I've just lost my 2 1/2 year old Dalmatian to Kidney disease and I'm totally devastated, he was my baby. How do I help his 2 year old deaf brother cope with it? He's never been on his own and has always been with his brother who was effectively his ears too. Chester is lost and I don't really know what to do to help him.

I been bringing my dog to the vet for 5 days now, and been treating him with medince through IV's. He rarely goes to the bathroom, and when he does its a really foul smell (besides urinating) and seems to by bloody sort of. He now is drinking water on his own again, and has just started to eat on his own again, but only very very very little food like once a day... 2 days ago he was vomiting much, but never any blood. Now he might only vomit once or twice a day, and it looks all white and flemmy. He is still somewhat alert, but doesnt move or get up to walk around ever... The vet says that he will live but from his status I just dont see how he can live... The vet said that tomorrow is the last day he will get medicine for his parvo, then he should be ok. Could this be possible? from what his status is, do you think he will live? do you think he still needs to be treated after tomorrow's meds? Also is there anything I can do to help him fight his parvo while at home? Thanks!

My 16 month old Chihuahua attacks visitors that come to our house and even my husband. He is very protective over me. He sleeps in our bed and my husband is very careful if he makes sudden moves at night because he will attack! He is always angry and barks at anyone or anything he sees. We need help before he does something REALLY bad.

Ok well just yesterday my dog that I've had for 8 years died out of nowhere. I was in the house he went outside to do whatever like he always does. I am about to leave and I look out the window. I see my dog laying out on a little grass area. It was fairly hot out and I found it weird he would be laying out there. I opened the door and started calling his name. He didn't move the slightest bit. I started walking towards he getting more worried each step and yelling his name, until I got close enough to realize he was already dead. I was really frantic and crying and insane and couldn't bear to look at him with ants and flies around him already. He had only been out there for 20 minutes. He was never sick, never showed any signs of having anything wrong with him, and I had just seen him walk out the pet door healthy as can be 20 minutes earlier. There he was just laying there dead. I was in shock that he could just die like that, no warning, nothing. I was trying to figure out how it..

I have a 2.5 month old male pit bull and I'm planning to buy another male pit bull puppy, which is actually a brother of the one I currently own. Of course, they're the same age (sinse they're both from the same litter). My question is if they will be able to get along when they grow older, sinse they're both males? Or will it make a difference if they're from the same litter?....Any advice will be appreciated! Before I decide to buy it...

I have an 8 month old rot-husky mix. She is a shelter rescue we took in when she was 8 weeks old. At first she was perfect in her crate, then we had to kennel her at 3 months for a week when we went out of town. After that, she will go to the bathroom in her crate about once/twice a week.

At first we thought it was separation anxiety, so we've tried everything we read, the low-key hello/goodbye, getting a smaller crate, changing her food, taking her to the vet, monitoring/changing her feeding schedule, rewarding her when she goes outside.. nothing works. Sometimes we come home and her crate is clean, and sometimes not so clean. It doesnt happen on any particular day of the week, and she's great otherwise, she even rings a bell to go outside when we're home and has her own potty area outside that she uses regiliously.

We've had no other problems with her and she exhibits no other symptoms of separation anxiety. Please help! How can I get her to stop going in her crate??

Will male dogs in heat try to mate with a spayed female?
I have a year old female that went through her heat cycle and I had her spayed. I live in a house where there are three other dogs 2 males and 1 female, neither of them are fixed and I have no control over them. Will the male dogs still try to mate with my female dog even though she is spayed?

I have a 10 week old puppy... a maltese... I cannot house break this dog. I've had him for about 3 weeks now. So far he has peed in my bed numerous times. Crapped once... I take him outside several times... and he will do his business sometimes, but at night right before bed time, I'll take him out several times before bed, and he will play with a leaf or sniff the ground, but no pee!!! He waits till he gets into the house to pee or poo.... I'm out of my mind! What do I do?

My 8 month old rotty had her spay surgery when she was about 5 months old. Her scar healed nicely. Just recently i looked at the scar site and I found about 3 or 4 nickel to dime size lumps. Is this normal, or something to be concerned about?

My dog is about 7 years old. She used to go to the bathroom outside fine but [for about a year now] she ALWAYS has accidents in a certain spot in my house. I put her outside enough, that can't be the problem. How can I stop this?

My bf and I just bought 2 Daschund brothers (a little over 2 months old). They are black short-haired with brown markings. We'd like to name them after a pair (salt and pepper, Ben and Matt, etc). <-- something along those lines, but we need more ideas! Also if anyone has tips for this breed/ small dogs in general I would love to know! (I've only ever had big dogs.) Thanks everyone in advance!

Well my dog just started her first heat cycle on Friday November 3, well she started bleeding of course. but today is her 5th day and i notice her swelling as well, but i dont see anymore blood come out Is that normal?? Also I would like to know when do I know when her heat cycle is over?? I also have another question, well my dog is a very calm, good loving dog friendly especially, i bought her a new bed like 6 days ago and today when i got home she had ripped it up (not all of it but some) well my question is, Is this normal for her to be acting like this on her heat cycle, or does this have nothing to do at all? I also plan to spay her but her vet said that they wont spay her until her heat cycle is over, ok what i want to know is after she is spayed and i bring her back home, is there anything that i have to do for her, example special attentions?
Please help me out, i really would appreciate it! Thank YOu =~)

It's right on the top of her head (skull). I thought it was a tick but it just looks gray, very smooth, and soft. It's kind of bulbous. But it's not even the size of a pencil-eraser. I looked all the way to her skin and I see no legs or scaling like a tick's body usually has. If it was a tick it's something like I've never seen before.

It's either growing out of her head or it's stuck there, but I don't want to pull it out. Do you have any idea what I'm talking about?
