My bf and I just bought 2 Daschund brothers (a little over 2 months old). They are black short-haired with brown markings. We'd like to name them after a pair (salt and pepper, Ben and Matt, etc). <-- something along those lines, but we need more ideas! Also if anyone has tips for this breed/ small dogs in general I would love to know! (I've only ever had big dogs.) Thanks everyone in advance!

I have 2 mini dachshunds. I have a boy and a girl. They are 4 and 5 years old. Their names are Tucker and Daisy-Duke. I am not sure on what to name them. I can offer advice on potty training though. Start right away and be very consitant with the method you use. Make sure that anyone else that is going to be around the little fellows follows your training procedure. Consistancy is the key. It took me a year to train my male because there wasn't consistancy. Doxies are known to be very stubborn and hard to train. Stick to your guns. My two are little cuddle buddies. They are the best two little dogs I could ask for. You might want to read up on the health issues they can have and how to prevent some of them. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new pups!

Dog training: Do as much studying as you can... there are many different schools of thought about dog training - crates or no crates? choke chains or not? Run of the house or only certain areas? Go to the library and get a couple of books, then decide what seems best for you. You won't regret doing the research, you'll need all the info you can get with two to keep up with!

I like your thinking! You could go with a city and a state like Nashville & Tennessee or something. Famous character that came in pairs would be cool like Starsky & Hutch, Turner & Hooch. Or you could go with the liquior theme like Bartles and James, Jack and Daniels or something. This is a blast! Or you could go bible like, Cain & Able. You could go with politician names too!
Trianing, basic obedience of course and continued education as the pup grows. Most new puppy owners take the first six week class and have fun, learn the basics then never go back, really how much do you remember from kindergarten? Keep training, have fun!

How approximately Sophie or Olivia, Reilly, Madison, Dakota, easily they are the names I even have for my Guinea Pigs yet they are such lovable names i could use them for different pets to boot. I also have a mini dachshund named Oscar,(how ironic)he's great, wait and spot via the pup point they are crammed with antics.we like our Oscar to bits and you are going to adore your little lady additionally. well for names mine is called princess and she is a 13 year old mini dash these dogs i have found can be spiteful and little buggers they need only one master and they are very loyal check out some web sites on these guys good luck

winnie and poo.jeckle and hide.snip and snap, my son has 2 of these. they are bad leg hikers. they put a wrap around the tummy when in the house cause they dont miss a thing to hike on. ANOTHER NAME IS OTIS AND CLYDE... good luck
