worried because she isn't spayed YET and I didn't think it would happen until she was around a year old. All the sudden my 7 yo male is being very attentive and I now have then separated (just in case). I see nothing in the way of a discharge and she seems just fine, but she isn't near grown, is it possible she is in heat, or is my 7 yo IG just warming up to her?

My hubby and I have tried a couple of times with our black lab in the woods behind our house. But he automatically runs to the stream (labs just love water!) and we have to go in there and hook him back up on his leash. I see other people who's dogs just stay with them, run off a little, but go right back to them. What do you suggest?

I have a 35 lb dog, and we are going to CO from MS for Christmas and we are driving my car back to MS, I am so nervous about having my dog in a plane, she has to be checked as baggage, and Im nervous about her flying. Does anyone have any suggestions or expereince with flying with dogs? What precautions should I take? What should I be sure to ask the airline employees? Any suggestions or comments would be very helpful.

My puppy (3 months) vomited today and yesterday. Both times he simply vomitted saliva. We weren't in the car or anything, just simply hanging around the house. I'm worried.

I have Akc registered Female large toy poodle named Ebony(Black) is seeking a boyfriend. I like to mate it with my other male toy poodle(Mushu) that I own but He is too short and small to get on top of her. (when we got her we thought she would be same size as mushu but she got too big. I grew up with pit bulls. I absolutely loved my dog! He was so lovable and obedient. However, I have always had my reservations about owning a pit bull while my girls were young. Not because I feel that the breed is vicious. But because their bite is so deadly and it is extremely hard for them to let go once they latch on. Even while they are playing as puppies their little teeth get caught on things. Anyway, my girls are older now and would not stand at eye level with the dog now which was a huge concern for me. My only concern now is that my 8 year old is very hyper and her touch is rough. We had a **** zu that used to snap quite often at her. I know that a pit bull would not be so quick to snap as a **** zu is. But, I would like to hear the thoughts from others that own pit bulls with hyper children lol

And I want current ones, not old ones that you found on any old website that you didn't look on the copyright thing for. Okay, so best answer for the actual person that puts a good breeder. I will actually award people for this.

1st Place = Best Answer and Thumbs Up!
2nd Place = Thumbs Up and a Comment
3rd Place = Thumbs Up
4th Place = A Comment

You better give a good breeder because everyone else gets thumbs down to hide their heads in shame.

What breeds are good for young children. I don't want an agressive dog. I thought maybe a small dog, but I like the Lab.

Anyone believe in the theory that dogs have been placed on this world to be a 'soclal link' between man and the animal world? I mean, dogs can be loyal friends and offer protection to an extent that no other animal can ..... there must be something special in their make-up?

He in his pen crying all day. The only time he's quiet is while I am playing with him. Its not that I don't give him enough attention (I am always playing with him). I've tried ingnoring him, putting another dog in with him, toys, expanding his pen. Some more ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated!
