the price is only a small part of what a dog like this will cost you. The grooming of this kind of dog is a daily brushing to keep it from matting. Regular professional grooming every six weeks at about $50.00.Of course there are the vaccinations and food. For info on the breed and breeder referral go to:

A standard sized Poodle will cost you $800+ for a pet and $1000+ for show quality.
Those are the prices from professional breeders only. A backyard breeder would never sell for that much.

Call Petsmart and ask them? However I wouldn't ever use petsmart to groom any of my dogs ever--especially a poodle. Most of the groomers at petsmart are just out of grooming classes & don't know the special handling a poodle needs. They've done a couple of really bad grooming on my poodle & I've never been back..I won't even shop in their store I was that angry with them...Call a real groomer, you'll have better luck.

However much a reputable breeder charges for their pet quality dogs. Don't judge it by newspaper ads, internet ads, pet stores, or other disreputable, unethical sources. Contact some reputable breeders and ask questions.
