All mixed-breed dogs should be free, or no more than $50 at the most.
Make sure the parents have been thoroughly checked out...both of those breeds are prone to certain problems.

Most rescue places charge from $25 - $200, depending on the age of the dog and it's condition.
Malitpom is not a breed. It is a designer dog created by greedy unethical breeders. It is against the Maltese code of ethics to breed a Maltese with anything other than a Maltese. If a breeder is willing to throw away the code of ethics on being a reputalbe and responsible breeder, what else has he thrown away or ignored? Shots? Knee Problems? Skin Problem? Eye Problems? Temperment Problems?
If you have your heart set on one of these dogs, pleasse take some time to learn about reputable breeder and how to be a responsible breeder. Otherwise, the breeder and purchaser are supporting overpopulation and the killing of shelter dogs by allowing non-quality dogs to be bred recklessly. Responsible breeders don't typically sell on the net, through newspapers, to pet stores, to puppy brokers, and they certainly aren't backyard breeders who are trying to make money.
I hope you find the information as helpful as I have.

Maltipom is not a certified breed, rather a mutt, simply put. Therefore, there should be no cost involved to adopt a mixed breed.
If you put out big bucks to own one of these mixes, it simply lets backyard breeders know there is a big market and they'll continue doing what they're doing. Breeding excessive amounts of mutts.
Yes, they're absolutely adorable, but they're not purebred and their pricetags shouldn't be either.

Mutts should be free. I have a boxer/shepherd mix (hah a Sheper?).
It's just so unfortunate that people would spend money on dogs like that (or even pet store puppies), when there are thousands of lovable pets that can be adopted. Hell, I saw the cutest bassett hound dog up for adoption for only $100 with all shots, microchip, neutered and everything.
