It's a very nice thing you want to do for your friend and family, but usually this isn't the best way to go about something like this. You should consider that they may need time to grieve over their loss and that a new puppy this soon, could be percieved as a "replacement" of a beloved pet.

Your reasons are very noble, but it's probably best to give them some time and mentally prepare for bringing in a new family member as well as being ready for all the work of a puppy.

I would advise against getting your friend a new puppy just because their old dog has been killed.

Your friend will start making enquiries about a new dog for their family when THEY are good and ready to get a new dog. Do NOT assume that their old dog can just be replaced like any other "possession".

Not to sound rude but....

buying them a puppy wont make the pain of the loss go away. someone who has just lost a pet should take time until they are ready to take on another companion. a puppy is a lot of work and yeah.

Tell your friend that when they are ready for a new puppy, you will go with them to the animal shelter and help them find a new puppy to love.

i would go to a pound normally its less than $15 that i can remember, and they get neutered there too. also u can look (if u guys have them) in the penny saver normally ppl give puppies away in there.
or ask around ur neighborhood if they know anyone who has had puppies.

No like the others reported its no longer a competent thought to hold your domestic dog to a distinctive domestic dog who hasn't had photos. Your domestic dog is almost a million/4 secure and your friends domestic dog isn't secure. you are able to desire to attend a clutter longer till your domestic dog gets all his photos that's 4/4. you do no longer desire your canines to fall ill.
