I have a 35 lb dog, and we are going to CO from MS for Christmas and we are driving my car back to MS, I am so nervous about having my dog in a plane, she has to be checked as baggage, and Im nervous about her flying. Does anyone have any suggestions or expereince with flying with dogs? What precautions should I take? What should I be sure to ask the airline employees? Any suggestions or comments would be very helpful.

depending on its age and size you could give it Benedryl to take the edge off.. try it a couple days prior to flying. and ask your vet for dosage.. it will help with anxiety..put a favorite blanket or one of your shirts that you have worn for a day so that it has the comfort of your smell... IT WILL BE OK.....SMILE...good luck

You are going to need a health certificate from a Vet, stating the dog is in good health, shots ect. I had my puppy flown to me from CA to NC, I had no issues at all. I think most airlines take better care of pets than people. No worries.
