We have 2 dogs in our family. A Golden Lab, 3 yrs, and a Shepherd/Lab Mix, 1 yr. My shepherd all of a sudden has started nibbling on the other dog's ears. It get to the point where she snaps at her (they're both females and both fixed). Is this normal?

Your dog is teething. And is begining to grow her new teeth in. Zoey, our black lab used to nibble and bite at our other female boston terriers. Get her alot of chew toys, not ones with cotton inside because my dog tears the cotton out and your dog may do that to. It's normal.
Good Luck!

Two females together need to work out between themselves which one is the dominant in their relationship. As long as it doesn't escalate into real fighting and BOTH dogs know that you are the leader in the house and not either of them, you can let them work it out for themselves. It's normal.
