Does the dog think there is another dog inside the mirror? Does he/she bark? Walk back and forth or what?
Does the dog realize that it is him/her?
Or does it depend on the individual dog?

I am moving from USA to AUS and will be taking my Great Dane with me. A typical dane, she suffers from anxiety and I fear flying in the cargo area may be too much for her. Is there a way to qualify her as "special needs?" Thanks for your input, I'm really worried about this!

I've never taken any of my dogs to formal training before. however, having a JRT mix as well as a Lab mix with separation anxiety, I'm thinking this time it's out of my hands.

What types of credentials do you look for in a trainer? I'm not looking to do agillity or make them assistance dogs, I just want a couple issues resolved such as socialization for the JRT and how to help ease the separation anxiety for my lab mix.

Thanks in advance!

She has been very healthy all her life. The vet told us several years ago she had lived longer than he would have expected. We want her to be at home and as comfortable as possible when the time comes. She's acting normal except that she won't eat and is very thin and weak. We have tried to entice her with many things to encourage her to eat but nothing interest her. She has hearing and vision loss (not total) and athritis in her hip. (large dog) At her age we understand she is dying but we want it to be natural and at home. Just don't know exactly what to expect.

My man has several pet names for his dog. For example Suger pie, honey bun etc. etc. etc. Then he started calling me the same names too. Sometimes I don't know if he is calling me or his dog. Is that offensive? Would any of you get offended by that? It doesn't bother me. Because he is a very loving person. But my sister said she would get offended by that. He loves his dog very much and I like his dog too. So what do you think people?

When will a female dog start showing if she is pregnant? She's a St. Bernard! Please***** no remarks about spaying, or how awful I am, I just asked a simple question and I would appreciate only serious questions. Thanks~

I am so disgusted by this fast moving ban to get rid of the pitbull breed and I wanted to find out if anyone has a pitbull that they dont trust. I know there are pits out there that have/will attack but I am a firm believer that its because they were raised and trained inproperly. Please let me know your stories/opinion on banning pits

We had an appointment to put her down 11-07-2006 at 2:45 and we took her outside for the last time and she died in my arms. My son would love a dog, and I suggested getting a rescue greyhound, but my hubby will not entertain it. He wouldnt see any harm come to an animal but says he just dosent want one in the house. (Germs, mess, smells etc.,)
I can see where he's coming from after working hard for nice things in our house and generally he'd give our son the world, so he must feel quite strongly!
But I think its important for kids to feel responsible for something and learn all about life.. and death

it's the clumping kind of litter. In the last couple of days he has been vomiting after he eats his normal food. He's a dog of course so he then eats his own vomit. But, do you think eating clumping cat litter can cause a bowel obstruction which might be causing the vomiting?
