She is chewing because she is teething, not that she doesn't have any teeth, but the ones in the back of her mouth are comming in, creating a need to chew. Get her some bones - not rawhide like you can get at stores, though - most puppies are not interested in those yet - best would be rib bones from beef, pork, or if you have it, deer.

Next, get a squirt bottle, or a rolled up newspaper, and when she chews something she shouldn't squirt/pop her with the water/paper. (The paper won't hurt her, the sound of it scares her - if you are worried, hit your hand with the paper while wearing a good glove to account for fur). Immediately after diciplin, give her the bone.

You can also get chew toys for dogs in case you can't find bones, but she may need playing with to interest her in the toy first.

If you find that she is still chewing things she shouldn't when you are not home, invest in a crate and get her crate trained, so she cannot chew on the wrong things while you are gone.

The main reason I suggest the crate is not to be mean, but because the pup and get herself confused very easily if she's doing this. She will be harder to break, because as she sees it, she can chew on anything she wants when you are not home, but when you come home, she gets in trouble for chewing on things that she feels she's allowed to when you are gone. This sets a bad table for ransacked houses when she decides to get mad at you for leaving in the first place.

If you JUST CAN"T crate her (cause she will howl and cry and pretend she is dying) you can try a product called bitter apple, and spray it on the things she chews but shouldn't - though bear in mind, it doesn't always work, cause some dogs will chew anyway, or the odd dog has been known to like the taste and chew worse.

Hope the info I have given you helps, and if you decide to crate train her, do an online search for methods - and choose the one you feel will suit you and your dog best.

Because puppies CHEW! They teeth, just like human babies. And why are you letting a 9 week old puppy have the run of the house? Research crate-training.

Get a baby playpen or gated area on a flat/tiled surface and prepare for the teething stage.

She's teething and needs to chew on things while her adult teeth come in (this can last until 9-12 months old). Get lots of rubber chew toys to leave with her during the day (kongs, nylabones etc) and soft toys for her to chew on while you can supervise her.

My staff is 5 years old and he is still chewing (sorry, I don't want to put you off), however, he is totally adorable. Try her with very strong chew toys, and change them frequently so that she doesn't get bored, and when he's alone try to put her somewhere where she cant get to anything of value. Our little angel has totally ruined an antique old table (by jumping up on to it and scratching the surface and he has chewed all corners of an antique chest of drawers.
