My Daschund will not stop using the bathroom in the house. We let him out frequently and he will go outside but he sneaks around and goes behind our recliners in the living room or in my new babies room. My husband wants to sell him because he feels this will never end. I am stuck I love the dog and want what is best for him.

Everyone's suggestions sound good. I own two Daschunds, and I can tell you that they are stubborn. They will also keep hitting the same places; so, clean these areas well. I had a dog do something similar, and I put a pad down in his favorite spot. Whenever he peed or pooped on the pad, I'd take him and the pad outside where he usually goes and dump the poop outside...letting him know where it's supposed to go. It is frustrating; so, I understand your husband's displeasure.

WAS THE DOG POTTY TRAINED PRIOR TO THE BABY??IF SO HE SOUNDS JEALOUS. I WOULD ALLOW THE DOG TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU AND THE BABY. MAYBE MORE PLAY TIME WITH THE DOG.
IF THE DOG IS NOT CRATE TRAINED I WOULD GET ONE. AFTER THE DOG EATS TAKE HIM OUT 20 TO 30 MINS LATER AND SAY GO POTTY. IF HE DOES GIVE HIM A TREAT AND PRAISE HIM IF NOT BACK IN THE CRATE WAITE 5 TO10 MORE MINS...MAKE SURE THE DOG KNOWS POTTY TIME IS NOT PLAY TIME !!
GET A GOOD CLEANER AND REALLY CLEAN THE SPOTS WHERE HE HAS WENT IN THE HOUSE.
IF YOU CATCH HIM IN THE ACT SAY NO IN A LOUD TONE AND TRY TO TAKE HIM OUT RIGHT AWAY.
WHEN MY DOGS WERE PUPPIES I DID NOT LEAVE THERE WATER BOWL DOWN . I GAVE THEM WATER EVERY HALF HOUR TO HOUR(IF ITS HOT OUT AND YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR AIR ON THEN DON'T DO THIS) THEN I TOOK THEM OUT IN ABOUT 30 MINS NO MORE PEE PEE ACCIDENTS
NOW THEY HAVE WATER ALL OF THE TIME.
GOOD LUCK!!!
MAYBE YOU COULD HAVE A TRAINER COME IN IF THE DOG KEEPS GOING IN YOUR HOUSE ID HATE TO SEE YOU NOT KEEP YOUR PET

Could he be jelous of the baby??? Try including him when you around the baby and give him lots of extra attention. Give him treats for going outside and praise. Try putting the baby on a blanket on the floor so he can get close, you want him to feel protective of the baby.

We had the same problem with our dog! The only thing that made hI'm stop was(im ashamed to say) rubbing his nose in it. I really did not want to and tried everything first but it had been 5 weeks and a $200 steam cleaner and we could not take it! he quit within 3 days!!

crate him up when your not around, dogs don't want to pee or poop were they live, only let him out when u can watch him, you need to catch him in the act in order for any training to work. praise him when he does go outside.
