Dogs - November 2006

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I had to give my dog away about a week ago. My question is sill she remember me if she sees me? If so, will she ever forget me? I don't plan on going to visit her, but my teenage son wants to just see her one more time. (He did not get to say good-bye)

I have a 21 month old Shih Tzu who does not eat out of his food bowl and wants us to feed him. We fed him once when he had a cone around his head from surgery and since then he has demanded that we feed him. When we don't feed him he will look so sad and upset that we feel bad and feed him at a later time. I would like to know how we can stop this habit...any ideas? PLEASE HELP!

like she thinks we have another treat for her. She bites at my husband's shirt when she's sitting with him. She also snaps in the air at us. I tried vinegar/water squirt bottle, also tried "time outs" on her. She doesn't seem to be getting the message. Raising a puppy is proving harder than I thought. People keep saying she will outgrow it but it seems more severe than other people talk about. She is a mutt, we've had her about 2 months now. Any other suggestions?

i got a new puppy from my sister he is 7 weeks i will be taking him for shots sunday but i saw worms in his fetus and i got meds over the counter how long will it be before they are all gone because i have kids and dont want them infected

I have a german shepherd that is almost 3 years old and we got her fixed about 6 months ago. The vet said that she wasn't a pure bred and told us that she thought that she was also inbred becasue of a deformed uterus or something. It kind of confirmed my own thoughts and my dog seems to be getting worse by the day. How bad will she get? The whole point was for her to protect my children and now they won't even go outside if she's out there. What should I do?

So today, my family adopted a puppy, (2 weeks earlier than expected. I believe I posted a question about waiting 3 weeks. But we decided we were ready, so we went shelter hopping today.) a Catahoula Leopard Dog/ Golden Retriever mix, and this puppy was really attached to her toy in the kennel. Does anyone know if they SPCA allows the puppy to keep their toys? Or does anyone know where they get their toys?

I would love for her to come home to find her favorite toy right there in her new home. Thanks in advance!

We have two great puppies that my dog had in thee summer and there were six of them but we only have two left but they don't listen and they think it's funn if they run to our road and in thee dead middle of our road which is a gravel road and people drive way too fast and crazy on ours roads... I can't keep them in our yard at all.... We yell at them and get to come back with dog food... Has anyone out there bought a puppy from buypuppiesdirect.com? I fell in love with a little sweetheart and spoke with the woman who works with the breeder. She guarenteed that they are not a puppy mill nor a broker that works with puppy mills. Before I move forward, I was just wondering if anyone has used them, and what their experience has been? The last two day, my dog has been limping on his left front leg. at first, i thought he just stepped on something. I checked but all was clear. Normally, if he stepped on something, the limping would go away after a day or so but now it seemed to be just as bad as before. When i went to check the paw again, he let out a little whine before even touching the paw. As i checked the rest of the leg, i noticed that he yelped only when I touched a certain part of his leg which was just under the shoulder blade. Anyone had this issue before? My dog is a German Shepherd and is 11 months old. Any advice or info?

Why do you think some people feel that it's ok to give away their pets when they are no longer convenient for them or because they want a newer, cuter, younger pet?

Pets should be for LIFE, except in extenuating circumstances. Your dog, cat, horse, rat, whatever wouldn't give you away for a prettier, thinner, better smelling human or give you away because you aren't caring for them the way you should be.It's not fair for them to get attached to you and then just get dumped from home to home or worse, get left at an animal shelter and run the risk of being euthanized for no other reason than the fact that nobody wanted them.

Those of you who think of pets as disposable are not fooling anyone when you say "WE LOOOOOVED FIDO, BUT BUT BUT" No you didn't love your pet, or else you would have done whatever you could to keep the animal with you.

Pets take time and money but they will give back so much more. If you don't have the time or the money for a pet, then DON'T GET A PET!

The butcher gave me all kinds of stuff for like 5 bucks, ribs, pigskins, pigfeet, beef bones.

He said give it to my dog.....is it actually healthy or once in a while treat sort of stuff.....?

He is a big super strong yellow lab about 2 years old and excercises every day. I know his teeth can rip through this stuff, but is it bad for his heart or system or anything??

Our retriever has been doing alot of scratching lately but we haven't seen any fleas that would cause this. Have been told that Dawn could be used or maybe their is some other home remedy that someone knows about.

does any one know what a coon dog looks like....i have heard of this dog several dogs an i know there mane perpouse (hunting racons an other wild animals) i might have seen one before but i m not sure an cant seem to picture one.....the first person to give me a picture or a website where i could see it is awarded 10 points thanks =)
