I have some neighbors that grossly mistreat their dogs and I have filed several complaints and it appears they are finally going to have to pay for what they're doing to these animals.

This has got me thinking though and how are these for some new doggie laws? lol

1.) All litters of puppies must be reported to the county at birth. If a dog has more than 1 "oops" litter, that dog's owner will be ordered to spay their animal.

2.) All puppies must cost at least 50 dollars to prevent people who can't afford to take care of them from bringing them home because they're "cute."

3.) Puppy litters should be taxed based on number of puppies and frequency of litters born.

4.) Anyone who does not follow the above stated rules would face a year in jail.

I know this will probably never happen, but wouldn't it be great if it DID?

I adopted a 4 month old puppy from a shelter/ She is a lab and terrier mix. She is great dog and almost all house trained and also crate trained. However in the evenings she has bursts of energy and all she wants to do is nip and bite. I have tried everything to get her to stop, she doesn't listen at al when she is having he tantrums of nipping and biting fun. She isn't hurtful in any way but the playing is getting out of hand.

I've been looking at other questions about this so, before anyone asks I know she isn't lonely and no she doesn't stay outside 24/7. We bring her in during the night (around 6 pm and let her outside around 9 am) I go outside about every couple of hours to play with her but, it seems during those couple of hours she is digging! I try to "trick" her and try to catch her digging but, I haven't been able to yet. She has a ton of toys (which she destroys within a few minutes of receiving...) I know she is a very spoiled dog (thats my fault, we don't have any kids yet so we act like she is our baby) but, every since she came home from the vet a couple of months ago (she had gotten parvo & had to stay at the vet for a week and she had never been in a cage or been away from me for that long) she has destroyed everything! Also, she is very happy and very healthy. she weighs about 70-75 lbs. I don't know how to make her stop destroying stuff or digging. If I could she would be the perfect dog

I have got a cavalier king charles spaniel of 8 months who doesnt eat his dry food. We prefer to give him the dry stuff rather than the wet stuff beacuse its better for him but my dog would rather starve than eat the dry food. We have tried all kinds of dry food but he doesnt like any of them. We have even tried mixing a bit of the wet stuff in but he only eats very little of that. He is also very hyperactive. Please help me on what i should do to get him to eat his food.

Is it good to feed a dog more than one type of food (not including treats). My dog have been eating 1 type of dry food and i feel bad for it. Is it ok for me to buy something like...canned food and feed it once in a while (along with the dry) to add variety to his diet? My dog will eat anything so feeding it won't be much of a problem. Thanks!

My 7 month old puppy has a fever. I know that the norm is 101-103 degrees. She has been sick lately, she has just finished her 2rounds of anitbiotics given from the vet. I just hate to call him up if there is something that I can do here at home to reduce the fever. It's not that high, but yet she has not been herself and and she is very very weak. I am open to suggestions!

I have an idea to get my dog to stop chasing my cat. They are both boys and my dog, Rocky, put our cat, Radar, in the hospital. (He turned out to be okay, just a little freaked out and shocked.) I'm thinking that if I get a girl kitten, he can get used to it and eventually accept my kitty. What do you think?

First of all, let me make it clear that I am not looking to train my dog to attack random people. I'm a homeowner, and quite frankly, don't want to get sued. However, I do live in a *very* remote area off the interstate in southwest Florida. We have a lot of homeless people that wander down here and take up residence in the woods near our homes, most of whom are sexual predators.

Anyways, I have a female German Shepherd that is 7 months old. She has an average prey drive, and I'd like to get her to attack on command. I've already had her trained to secure the property (she runs around the yard sounding an alert bark). I just need to know if there are any trainers out there that could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

We need a non shedding dog and one that won't tend to run away when the door opens. I heard that it not in maltese natuer to run away and they don't bark a whole lot which sounds good the grooming we don't mind. But we have seen some cute morkies also but heard they can be protective of owner. can anyone give us some help in deciding.

If your answer is dont breed. dont waste your time or mine because im going to breed them anyways and if think you're right about not breeding dogs then maybe you shouldn't reproduce either because there are to many stupid people like you that have homes so go blow yourselves

I am thinking of purchasing a Scottish Terrier. Are they a good breed? Do you or have you had one?

It would be a family pet & would stay indoors, except for a walk.

Do they do good with litter training? Does it work?

I had a yorkie once, and i tried to litter train him, and wouldnt even use it. He just stood there and then used it when he stepped out of the pan. It was very frustrating......

thanks =]

I just bought a 9 week old pommerian chihuahua puppy. What is the biggest size she will get?

Also, if I bought it from a newspaper ad and the person that sold it to me isn't a liscenced breeder do I have any right? For example, if the puppy is a sick puppy would I be able to take it to claims court without a contract?

This puppy only wants to be with my girlfriend and i. At night, we ill put her in a crate and she will cry until we take her out of the crate. It's horrible because she'll pee on our bed!

What do I do?

When's the best time to start doing housebreaking/potty training for the puppy?

One more question!
When can I start taking her to obidence classes?
THANK YOU!
