Sometimes, when i am eating something in particular my dog - Zoe, stares at me - when that doesn't work she barks - and lastly she starts making these funny moany wierd sounds while she is trying to get my eats!......Mom and I say she is trying to tell us she wants some and when we arent giving in she tries those wierd sounds. My husband - again - thinks we are being silly with our dogs. I think she is trying to speak to us in her own way. LOL

Of those who feed a BARF diet, what exactly do you feed them.?
I'm interested in examples of actual diets you give your dog.

I have friends that have their dogs on raw, but where I live they don't have the meal packages or they're way too expensive. So we are going to have to do this from scratch. (the veg and fruit part)

I'm not interested in somebody telling me about possibilities of salmonella poisoning, blah blah blah. Go to your local dog food factory and see how much salmonella you can find in the factory. And while you're there ask why most of the food they make is not even absorbed or capable of being absorbed by the dog's system - it's filler and most is bad filler. It's sickening! I've done my research, and I have made up my mind. I've seen results and heard of results.. dogs on their death bed switched to raw and turning 360s. Less vet visits, doctors asking what the flip the people have their dog on because they seem so healthy, etc.

Now she is in heat and will pee if my Husband doesnt pay attention to her, I thought Dog's where potty trained by six months. Is she doing it for attention? She has been pinned up in the kitchen since she came into heat. She goes outside every hour on the dot and she will still Pee! :( I'm sick of cleaning up Dog Pee. One of them has flew before he is 4 yrs old and he is lazy and will sleep the whole way. The other one is almost 2 and full of energy. I don't know what would be better for them. If you own a pug you know what I'm saying! There is pros and cons to both ways. I love them both. I don't have kids so they are my babies! Thanks for any input!

Let's say you're sitting outside with your leashed dog when your neighbor comes outside with their two dogs. One of their dogs are leashed, the other is not. The unleashed dog runs up to your dog growling and their other dog manages to slip out of it's collar. Both dogs are now in your dog's face, growling and attempting to bite it. In the process of restraining your dog, you are knocked down and have several scrapes and bruises. Neither dog was injured. How would you handle this situation?

I told the owners of the other dogs that I understand that accidents happen and tried to be understanding but I'm scratched and bruised (and hurting!) What if one of these scratches were to become infected or I otherwise needed medical treatment due to an injury sustained during this incident? Am I underreacting to the situation?

What would YOU have done?

My boxer dog eats everything he sees. If we leave a sock on the floor he eats it and swallows it. He has eaten many different clothing articles, plastic bags, and so forth. Luckly he has pooped the items out safely. Is this common for boxers and how do you stop it.

Also my boxer runs out the door when he gets a chance. He will run away from us and try to get us to chase him. It takes us at least 45 minutes to catch him. How can we get him to come when he is called.

Is it common for a boxer to foam at the mouth when he runs around and becomes excited.

I have been a AKC registered husky breeder for years. We have been so lucky as usually our breedings take place with no help from us, all natural. We have one stud and 3 bitches.

Two months ago, one of our females came into her third heat and we decided we would allow her to remain outdoors with the stud (usually we bring them in if we arent going to allow breeding) This wouldve been her first litter. They had at least 3 ties (those are the ones we witnessed) we thought for sure puppies were on the way.

Two weeks ago, we decided she didnt look pregnant and she wouldve been due very soon so we took her in to be scanned. There was no puppies.

Here is where it gets weird. One of our other girls, an experienced girl is in heat right now, not receptive yet but close. We heard yelping last night we ran out expecting to see them tied, instead he was tied to the same girl from 2 months ago. I dont understand why they would be back together, unless he is confused?
PLEASE HELP

My dog has allergies; she was red and scratched a lot. The vet gave her an antihistamine and I paid about $20 for 14 tablets. I found out that the medication was Chlortrimaton and it was the same medication that humans take. At another vet I went to, one of the office girls whispered to me that a solution I bought the last time was hydrogen peroxide! I paid a lot for it.
When it was time for a refill for the allergy meds I bought them at Walmart (the same 4 mgs) for $2.77 for 100 pills. How often is this the case?

My dog gets her hair cut and acts psycho. She "star gazes" (looks up and around like she is possessed). Has anyone heard of this? Should I stop having her hair cut? She stops the behavior after a week or so.

How long is it Ok to leave a dog alone in an apartment on a daily basis? I am considering getting an adult, large-breed dog (lab, doberman, etc.) who is already house trained, but am usually gone for 10-12 hours per day. Any advice?
