Sometimes, when i am eating something in particular my dog - Zoe, stares at me - when that doesn't work she barks - and lastly she starts making these funny moany wierd sounds while she is trying to get my eats!......Mom and I say she is trying to tell us she wants some and when we arent giving in she tries those wierd sounds. My husband - again - thinks we are being silly with our dogs. I think she is trying to speak to us in her own way. LOL

i agree with you. my 2 do it aswell bein staffies they are typically vocal but when it comes to something they want the noises they make are so not the norm. we always say if only they could speak what tales they would have to tell. youre not being silly you dog is letting you no she there and wants something. its the only way she can do this by making funny noises. its a shame they cant talk but i suppose it saves on ear ache and funny noises are so more effective.

Oh yes !!! I have three dobermans ,but only one does this. She'll try her best to communicate when she wants something to eat, wants to go outside, wants me to pet her or to cover her up on a chilly cold night. You're right it isn't a bark, different sounds and tones. I just love it when she talks to me. Believe it or not, I can usually understand what she is wanting at the precise times she does her talking.Tell your husband you are not silly.lol

Dogs do have a unique way of communicating with people. They can't use words as humans do but many like your dog and mine use sounds to get their needs and wants expressed. I have a 14 week old Bichonpoo named Esperanza.

Yep. I have 2 Siberian Huskies, a breed that are known as "talkers". Sometimes when I tell one of them "No", they will howl at me as if they are talking back to me or telling me off. Maybe it's a good thing that I really don't know what they are saying for sure!

Of course she is. My dog does this, too. Not just with the food thing, but for a variety of other reasons as well. She's a bit of a clown. I love that about her.

My dog does speak to me but I totally fade him out because it is usually just more nagging.

Now the chickens, they usually have something important to say.

My dog used to say "I Love You" or "I Want Out" depending on which side of the door he was on (whether we were outside or in, he wanted to follow us).

Oh yea, and my one cat says "NO!" LOL
