I just bought a 9 week old pommerian chihuahua puppy. What is the biggest size she will get?

Also, if I bought it from a newspaper ad and the person that sold it to me isn't a liscenced breeder do I have any right? For example, if the puppy is a sick puppy would I be able to take it to claims court without a contract?

This puppy only wants to be with my girlfriend and i. At night, we ill put her in a crate and she will cry until we take her out of the crate. It's horrible because she'll pee on our bed!

What do I do?

When's the best time to start doing housebreaking/potty training for the puppy?

One more question!
When can I start taking her to obidence classes?
THANK YOU!

Most chihuahuas stay 2-6 lb. That is the standard, but I have seen them much bigger, over 12 lb. Pomeranians are usually just a little bigger than chis. If you saw the parents, the pup will likely stay close to their size, but there are exceptions. Sounds like the breeder was not a reputable one and she may not be telling the truth about what the dog may be mixed with. If the puppy got sick, you would have a hard time getting anything from the breeder. It would cost you more to sue her than you would be able to recover. Please take her to the vet to be checked and start shots if they haven't been started already. Also she will probably need to be wormed. Housebreaking should start immediately, but you should keep her from any public areas until she has had 3 rounds of shots. Normally you start training them around 6 mo.

Who knows how big it will get. I have seen some pretty big Chihuahuas and some pretty big Poms. Pet quality dog were clearly used in this breeding, so who knows. That is the crap shoot in gettting a mixed breed from the paper.
I guess if you had a problem, you can sue. You probably won't get much, and would probably have to return the dog. Never again buy a dog from a backyard breeder. If you go to a real breeder, all this would be covered in the contract.

You are teaching the dog to resist the crate by taking it out when it cries. Either get a backbone and MAKE it stay in the crate, or live with pee in the bed.

Most puppy classes want them to have finished their vaccines first. Call and ask.

She will not get very big, this is a toy breed. You need to get her crate trained now. When humans are born they begin learning immediately and so does every other species, get her into training now. Also, realize it's not the dog who needs training it's you. You need to learn how to communicate with the dog. Hope this helps. Oh, and I really don't think you are going to have a leg to stand on with the sick puppy thing.

It can be Chihuahua, no longer Cheewaawaa.... Lol. Has your canine had any vaccinations as much as this point? It will have to have received a parvo/distemper shot on the age of eight weeks on the present day. Take your new pet to a vet to ensure she's in just right wellness and is on the right vaccination protocol.
