My Pit Bull had the same problem, and oddly enough the cure is something that you can find in your refrigerator!! My great uncle is a vet, and he told me that if you was to treat the fleas like some do with human lice with mayonnaise that will do the job!

Get a cone for your Pit Bull first, so that way he/she doesn't have a way to lick off the mayonnaise, and then spread the mayonnaise onto your Pit Bull, take your blow dryer, and on a comfortable warm setting, heat the mayonnaise to a hard substance and then wash off.

It worked for my Princess. Good Luck!!

I would recommend that you contact your vets office and let them recommend a topical flea and tick treatment for your dog such as Frontline Plus, let them know what other products you have put on your dog and how long ag. Using Flea shampoos really only kill the live fleas on your dog at the time of the bath. You will need to treat your pets environment as well, by washing bedding etc. Vacuum your house well, and discard the vacuum bag immediately, do not leave it in your vacuum as the fleas will just reinfest in your house. Hope this helps. Good Luck

I'd do three things, right away.

First, take her to the vet and have her dipped, and get her on Advantage. The dip will kill the fleas she has, and the Advantage will take care of fleas in the future. The vet will have a dip better for getting rid of fleas than the groomer will.

Second, flea bomb your house. The fleas are most likely in your house and that's why she keeps getting reinfected. As the vet for the best flea bombs, and bomb everywhere, not just where the dog is. They travel pretty far.

Third, if you live in a warm climate, call an exterminator and ask about having your yard sprayed for fleas. If you can kill all of the fleas and eggs in the areas where your dog lives, then you can get rid of them once and for all.

Good luck - it's a pain, but once it's done, your pup will be happier and you won't have the fleas turn on you and bite you after she's medicated!

Fleas don't go in places like the anus but will go in dark warm open places on a dog. Try Adams Flea and Tick shampoo, dip, and spray. You also need to flea bomb your house with a product like Raid. If you have a yard it needs to be treated as well.

Good luck.

You sure it wasn't a tapeworm that came out of her rear??????

Fleas are not internal. Get some Advantage...fleas are living in your house....and then treat for tapeworms....which they get from the fleas.
Treat with Advantage for three month to make sure all new hatchlings are gone from the house.

There is no reason to "dip" and THEN apply Advantage. Advantage kills the fleas on the dog in 24 hours or less. The residual chemicals on the dog after the dip last a few days. It is too many checmicals on the dog. Advantage is all you need. Dipping is pretty old and really not done anymore....unless it is by someone wanting to make some money!!!!!!!

Once you apply the Advantage, you do not need to bomb either. All newly hatched fleas will HAVE to get on the dog to feed. They will bite the dog and be killed by the Advantage. No "bomb" necessary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bombing leaves chemicals ALL OVER the house, but doesn't get many places, like IN the furniature and under it!! Fleas can survive bombing!!
The less chemicals the better!!!

YOU CANNOT TREAT FLEAS WITH MAYO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That persons uncle the vet is an idiot!!! It does not work on lice and it will not work on fleas!!!!!!!!

I would consult a vet and ask them over the phone you won't have to take him in. Also the fleas are probably in your home now so you will probably have to flea bomb your whole house, wash your bedding. Good luck
