Is it good to feed a dog more than one type of food (not including treats). My dog have been eating 1 type of dry food and i feel bad for it. Is it ok for me to buy something like...canned food and feed it once in a while (along with the dry) to add variety to his diet? My dog will eat anything so feeding it won't be much of a problem. Thanks!

Misha is right, when you switch food for them you're suppost to mix the old kind with the new cause their stomachs can get upset and they can get diarrhea too.I do every now and then give them a can though, for a goody.

I feed my dog dry food and canned food. He also eats everything we eat too. He figures if I bite into something, then it is his turn for a bite too. He is healthy and happy.

Mixing a little wet food every now and then won't hurt. But remember too much wet food rots thier teeth quickly. Try brushing after wet meals.

actually i have heard it is best to keep them on one type of food, because their stomachs cant really handle the change in diet. i know when i switched from purina to pedigree my dog wasnt eating as much but now she gobbles down the pedigree :)
