i want to get one but im on a limited budget so about how much are they?

Never buy any dog at a pet store. They double and triple the regular price, and you don't know the history of the dog. Do your best to find a legitimate breeder in your area that only breeds chihuahuas .. (if they breed 2 or 3 different breeds .. skip them). Having them registered with the AKC .. that only means that they paid some money to register the dog with the AKC organization .. do not pay more just because they are AKC .. it doesn't mean anything .. Make sure you see the parents of the puppy you are buying on the property. NEVER meet someone "half way" at a gas station, or wherever to buy the puppy . .. they are not legit breeders. If they refuse to let you come to their home, or see the parents and the puppies .. something is wrong .. Be very careful who you buy your puppy from. Research it on google.com. Having said all that .. the range of cost for a non-champion .. non-show quality chihuahua can be anywhere from $350 to $800 each. Females generally cost more than males do. I would not pay more than $450 for a male, or $500 for a female. Research the topic in depth .. learn about what to look for when you are introduced to the litter of puppies.. do they look afraid? Do they come up to you ? . Are their eyes clear and bright ? .. Etc. Etc. Good Luck to you ! :)

All chihuahuas are small. There is no small breed of chihuahua. You should go to the pound. Pet stores are cruel and charge in the multiple hundreds of dollars for all types of dogs. Shelters run $50-$150 and you would be saving a dog's life.

Why are people thinking there are MINIATURE Chihuahuas?????
They are a TOY breed...therefore they are SMALL. Toy breeds CANNOT come any smaller!!! The "teacup" Chi is a money making scam for backyard breeders!!!!!! They are not the "correct" size!!!!!
WOW...chiweenie mom bought puppies from a PUPPY MILL!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is TOTALLY a puppy mill!!! What good breeder takes PAYPAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the NUMEROUS litters at one time and the high-priced mutts!!!! That is so funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
