Every time, lately, whenever I take both of my miniature dachshunds for a walk, the oldest one goes crazy and growls, barks, even lunges at me - when we're done, and I let them back in the house. Then, he has a little "time out" to get rid of his temper tantrum, and is fine - acting like nothing happened. He's never, ever done this before, and, I wonder why he's doing it now?

whats the best dog to have when you have a new baby - id like one that is good with kids, will be protective but not to the point that friends and family cant hardly touch the baby without being growled at!! and one that will be able to tolerate a toddler messing with it constantly!!

I have a 3 year old pitbull, who for the first year and 1/2 was a PAIN to train. He is now fully trained, as I worked soo hard on it. He is now most of the time VERY obedient and btw I have never and would never ever hit him!! But if he does ANYTHING wrong now all I have to do is say his name in a stern tone of voice
and he starts shaking as if he thinks im about to hurt him. He has been in my care basically from day 1, and no one has trained him but me. I dont understand why he seems scared even though he has never ONCE been hurt by me. Is there a reason he would suddenly be so sensitive? I just moved about 2 months ago so could it be new surroundings? Any help would be great.

My boyfriend have seven dogs. I alway find it so hard to imagine how he could keep house clean and odor free. I've tried to spend night at his house once, it was crazy since he have queen size bed and allows all dogs to sleep on the bed. He even have a rottiweiler, doberman, boxer, and a husky along with three medium or small mixed dogs. How could he sleep with all of them in the same bed and manage to keep his place so clean?

Which Guard Dog is BEST?

Doberman Pinscher
Rottweiler
German Shepard
Belgian Malinois

Can you also tell me why you picked one of the above because I'm planning on getting one of these dogs for my own reasons. Does anyone have any experiences with any of these dogs?

I have a 7 month old hound/lab/shepard mix. He has completely destroyed 3 beds in the past 3 months (2 in the last week). How can I keep him from doing this? I leave 2 or 3 chew toys in his crate (stuffed with goodies), and he is not in the crate for more than 4 hours at a time. It even happens when people are home. The last bed was this morning. I left at 7 AM, and my roomate called me at 10 saying that he shredded his bed again!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I got my puppy from a rescue foundation in August. When I got him, they had already named him Petey. I have been going with it ever since because he seems to know that it is his name. But, I do not like the name at all. Is it too late to change it? I am also taking him to obedience classes right now, and I am hesitant to change his name while he is learning.

If you think it is OK to change his name, do you have any suggestions? He is a mutt, hound and lab on the paperwork (although I definitely see German Shepard in him too).

Thanks in advance for any help.
