use vinegar and water to help keep the odor away (1-2 parts water and 1 part vinegar). Also use some carpet cleaner or just scrub to get the stain out.

well i think all the answers you got are wrong but thats my opion.when a dog pee's on a carpet you pick as much up as you can then you use some orange scented stuff and it won't ever do it again in that spot.orange stops the smell and the scent of the pea.

my dog peed on my dads carpet yesterday so i know what to do. first soak it up as much as u can-blot dont spread!!!! once its pretty much soaked up- mix dish soap w/ water and soak onto spot on the carpet. let it sit for 5-10 min. then blot it almost dry...let the rest air dry. to make sure the smell is completely gone pour baking soda...let it sink in for like 10min then vacuum

first, get paper towels or a rag to soak it up.
then, after most of it is gone,
you can put cleaner like fantastic or that orange spray(i forget the name), but just spray it on the spot, then wait about a minute, then use paper towels to clean up the rest of the spray. Its simple and will get the job done!

vinegar and water is good. but.....soak up as much as you can first. then, put the vinegar and water on it and soak up as much of that as you can. keep doing that until it soaks up clear. don't scrub until you've soaked it all up, you'll end up rubbing it down into the carpet.
