My golden retriever is 2 years old - is it too late to start her on gundog training?

It's probably not too late, but some things willl be more difficult. The most difficult thing may be getting the dog over any gun-shyness she may have. If that's not a problem, then the rest of the training is like any other training- consitentency and using a training style that fits your dog's personality, ie some dogs require food, others want rewards in the form of praise, some require a gentle "no," others require a serious alpha-role. If you have problems getting her "birdy" then you'll want to talk to other gundog owners and take her out hunting with the other gundogs.

Good luck.

A well-trained dog makes everyone happy, including his owner. Take a little time training him, and you'll never regret it; you'll always have an obedient dog by your side. Find more https://tr.im/gj458

By their nature, dogs are pack animals with a well-defined social order. Through basic training, you need to consistently make sure your puppy understands that you are the leader, not him. So in teaching him the basic rules, you take on the role of pack leader.

To fit into the family circle, your dog must be taught to recognize his name and such commands as come, heel, lie down and sit.

I guess you could try. Does she already know basic commands? Just be patient and consistent.
