I sent an email to their site, but according to their information if you want to register your dog you have to sign up as a breeder. I've been doing a lot of research, and out of love for these dogs would like to help contribute to having them recognized by the AKC as a breed. To do this you need to breed down 4 generations of top quality dogs and have a petition of some sort signed. To breed an AKC registered dog I know you have to show them and win awards to prove they are of good breeding quality, but how do I go about doing this for cockapoos? I can't show my lovely puppy because he isn't AKC registered, so how do I know and future owners know they are of quality stock? By the ACC standards on their website my pup has the correct coloring, stance, jawline, temperament, etc. I just need more information and possible some good websites or books that could tell me more about this process. Thanks.

I think I made a mistake. I recently brought home a new bulldog puppy to live with my nine year old female bulldog. She does not appear happy. I have the new puppy in the kitchen with a gate and a crate for the puppy. I have "exceptionally closely" supervised the limited interaction that I have allowed between the two. On several occasions the older dog begins to snarl and emit a low growl. I am terrified that she may try to bite the puppy. I have read some other advice where it states that I should not be too quick to jump in. Please I do not want to take chances and spend the night at the veternarian.

I am willing to listen to any helpful advice. I think I may have made a major mistake. I thought it would be a good companion for my older dog.

We just got a 10 month old Saint Bernard puppy. She was already named when we got her. My husband wants to change her name but I think that it would be mean to change it. She is already almost a year old and has learned her name is is used to it.
If we changed it would it affect her in a negitive way or would she just eventually forget her old name and get used to the new one?
So do you think it is or isn't wrong to change it?

(Her name is Hannah)

My dog is two years old, about 8months ago she started licking and even biting her front paw. Vet says it may be anxiety, and he ran a test that showed no parasites. Sometimes she bites it so much it bleeds. Other thing Ive noticed (and still vet says its nothing) is she is loosing hair on her back legs (inner thighs?). Lately I even think she is biting her back paws too. She has no fleas, and aside from taht is very healthy. Sheds like crazy, but I believe its from bitting herself so much, she kind of pulls her own her out.
I dont think it has to do with what she stands on 'cause we used to live in an apartment were she spent all day on carpet. Now she has a patio to go out to once in a while (mostly dirt), but she spends most of ehr day indoors (tile) the only thing remains teh same is taking her to the park, lots of grass.Could it be something on the grass???
please help me.. I think she is very uncomfortable, and maybe even in pain, by bitting her own paws....

We had our seven month old Boston Terrier spayed on Thursday. She came out of it really well, and since Friday has been her normal self. The vet said to try to keep her quiet and calm, but she has been scampering around the house and getting up and down on furniture (sort of hard to stop her, since she's a little imp about that!)
She's acting fine, obviously not in any pain and not licking her wound. I'm not even sure she knows it's there right now.. However, the incision site is alittle red and weepy, and it is pink and swollen looking. She doesn't mind us touching it and doesn't seem bothered. Is this normal? We'd planned to call the vet tomorrow (it's Sunday and they're closed.)

Vet x-rayed her insides because she was bleeding in stool but thinks she is ok. Now she isnt pooping at all and doesnt want to drink. I didnt think sheetrock could kill a dog and she only chewed a bit. Please share! I will take her back to vet on Monday.
