My vet said it's a BIG no-no to give dogs sugar especially the refined kind of sugar in candy-I know it's hard they are just like kids but yu wouldn't give your children something you KNEW was bad for them -would you? get dog appropriate snacks so when they beg for your lolli u can give 'em a substitute.

YOu need to have more control over your dog. A lollipop is not meant to be ingested by animals. Human food actually is not supposed to be part of an animals regiment. Dog food is fine. Though some dog food have fillers but buy the ones that arne't cheap.
Unless you want a fat dog or a dog that'll have health problems in t he future then go ahead and give your dog whatever you want. I had a neighbor who fed the dog human food every day, the dog ended up having emergency surgery because his intestines were all messed up. The dogs body could not digest what the owner was giving him.

human food as a rule is not good for animals, especially sweets. If you are set on giving your dog some "treats" that are human food, then maybe something morealong the lines of meat scraps, such as ham, chicken, or hamburger. Never give your dog large portions of these items or it could make him sick. Also, never give your dog chicken bones, they splinter when bitten and end up getting stuck in the dog's gums, a vet will have to remove the splinters and it gets very expensive.

A lollipop wont make your dog sick, but he could get dental problems from the sugar. You need to learn to ignore the puppy face or he will beg for food all the time.
Give him something like a rawhide chew toy. This will satisfy a need he has and clean his teeth too.

Sweets aren't good for a dog. Instead of giving him your food, try giving him a puppy/dog treat.

I wouldn't because it could make him sick. Give him some yogurt or a small amount of vanilla ice cream (plain). As far as the puppy face is concerned, tell him you love him but this is mommys. Stick to it.

a little bit of sweets won't hurt your dog, but chocolate is a BIG NO!!!! Chocolate can be poison to some dogs for some reason. Also, grape seeds are toxic to your pooch.
