Well to start with a dog will chew what ever you give it.The sugar is not very good for his teeth and the dog will have all kinds of problems with his teeth maybe not now but later and if you been to the vet you probably know that dentist bills are in the hundreds of dollars.As far as is it normal' it is common sense that the owner take responsibly for there dog;s well being.I hope you will think twice about giving your dog gum.

A dog is like a young child. They will bite, chew, or put anything and everything in their mouth. However, the gum may not be good for the dogs digestive tract just like it is not good for humans when it is swallowed. I would keep the gum away from the dog.

No but I do find that interesting. Most dogs don't do that. Most chew on a bone and yours chews on gum. Truly a step above the rest.

No not normal I have seen it before.
Really good for his teeth! Who needs dog chews lol! Gum makes his breath smell good and gets all the nasties out of his teeth. Of course you got the swallowing, if that is he is swallowing it....I no of so much more things a dog chews up and eats though....

I once saw a dog chewing gum. It was very funny. So I guess it is not that unusual.

No and the dog should not be allowed to have gum. It is not good for them.

why is your dog chewing gum? you do realize that if he jokes on it, it's probably not coming back up with the heimlich and he'll most likely sophicate before you can pry it out of his esophagus.
