Here is an idea that I got for my puppy, and it is starting to work. Get a bunch of chew type toys and bones (they can be the cheap ones) from the pet store. Make a chew toy box (I used a copper pot) and every time they try to chew on something hand them a toy and say chew toy. She was afraid of some of the toys at first, so I put a tiny bit of peanut butter on them, and now she loves them. And the furniture that I wanted her to stay away from I sprayed with bitter apple spray. You can find it in any pet store. It's a green and white bottle. I'd tell her "NO" when she would start to chew something and spray it at her mouth, then I would grab the toy and say chew toy. It is tough but they do grow out of this stage. I promise!!

Go to this website and read everything. If that's too time consuming, download the free Podcasts and listen to the messages on becoming your dog's pack leader.

Begin crate training tomorrow! There's no point in taking a dog to obedience class until that dog has learned to respect you. You'll waste your money and frustrate the dog.

Good luck through puppy phase. Be prepared to lose shoes, sandals, furniture legs. Sob. I have tried hot pepper but it only discoloured the shoes. They only go through this stage up to 7 or 8 months as they lose the baby teeth. For some reason , they prefer nice expensive leather or carpet instead of their toys.
Keep the shoes waaay up in the closet shelves.

Go to dog obedience classes. They will teach you how to get control of the dog and be the pack leader and not your dog
