and he has alot of hair missing. the skin color really scares me . I took him a bath and put some dry skin conditioner on him. Is there anything else i can try before takiing him to the vet.

I know it's scary when something happens to a pet. The skin conditions are normally treated easily by the vet. I do not know anything you can do at home. I had a dog with the same problem and she had to go into the vet every two weeks for a special bathing untill it was gone. It was determined that it was derminex mites which is a mite that lives under the dogs skin. She is now fine and healthy. Good luck.

my dog has the same problem, it was hot spots. She gets them every year and just needs a shot. She pulls a ton of hair out and chews her skin raw and gets a bacteria infection so she needs a antibiotic too. Take your dog to the vet, it's not a huge problem but it will help your dog relax and he will definitely appreciate it .

I would take him to the vets immediately if his sick is purple and black, because normally it is only pale yellow.
