I am seriously considering adopting a greyhound. I have done extensive research and know the needs of the dog and am prepared to provide those needs. I live in a 1350 sq. ft. condo (owned by my father) and he doesn't want me to have one in the condo because he thinks the dog is too big for the space. From all my research, small spaces shouldn't bother a grey because they like to lay around and could be considered lazy. Give me some good ammo to convince my dad to let me have one! By the way, my husband and I are planning on moving to a house soon, but it could be more than a year from now. I want a grey now!

i just brought my dog back from the groomer, and he started digging in my bed...then i noticed there was blood all over the sheets. one of his front nails is cut down too far to the quick, and it's bleeding. is this a serious problem? what should i do? will the bleeding stop on its own?

contacting the dog groomer is not really an option right now because it's closed until Monday

thanks

I just bought a toy poodle and I am picking him up in a few weeks. The breeder said he was current on his shots, but will need his 3rd and 4th round on me. How much can i expect this to be?

I know this is going to sound nasty, but my dog ate a necklace that my husband gave me when we started dating 4 years ago. How long would I have to wait for it to "come out"???

I found a beautiful and extremely rare breed of dog. I know she must have an owner looking for her. Any ideas on how to find the owner? She is so rare her breed isn't even listed on the lost pet websites I have found.

I am moving at the end of fall and i wanted to buy an animal to take with me. I have always wanted to buy a french bulldog but recently researched it and didn't really find much positive info on it. Are they really terrible difficult and expensive dogs?

a black lab showed up at my front door step so I gave her water. For the past two nights now she has slept outside my house. Should I take her in even though I already have a dog of my own? Or should I just wait a while and see if she leaves?

I have a male beagle mix that is about 2 yrs old (he is a rescue so we are not completely sure), a male cockapoo that is 10 months and a female pug that is 6 months. They are great dogs and we love them. They are truly memebers of the family. However, the cockapoo has started growling and sometimes attacking the other two. When ever they try to get on the bed or couch he growls and if I do not interevene right away he will attack. If they get near his food or toys it is the same reaction. I am not sure why he had just started it. He has never growled or shown aggression towards me or any other human. How do I stop this? He is starting to worry me. Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

a pet that you loved very much? I would like to thank everyone for their thoughful answers on my dog's (Lucky) condition. He was on medication for heartworms and was supposed to start treatment in another week. Well, I lost him today. I am very sad, he was dearly loved. How do I deal with the loss? I have had him over 9 years. I do have other pets and they are loved just as much. It is so hard. I am not a kid, I am 24 years old and we have lost pets before, my mom has, but this is the first pet, that I have personally lost, that was mine. Please, NO RUDE COMMENTS, this is hard enough without the rude answers or comments.

I am serious... My 6 year old son was playing on the bed and my 10 week old chihuahua fell off and hit the side table or so my 6 yr old says. anyway after that the dog acted really funny and disoriented and actually lost control of his body fluids. I am 9 months pregnant and I flipped out so my mother got the puppy and washed him off with a cool rag and kept talking to him because he acted as though he was having a seizure or something. Now I am worried because although he has come back to looking normal, he acts like he can't breathe too easily and I had to force water in his mouth with a med. dropper. He ate some soft food and then vomited. I called the vet already and he told me to just keep an eye on him all night and make sure he would wake up every so often....THIS EVER HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE'S PUPPY???? Please serious answers only I am very attached to this puppy I have had him for 6 weeks and I bottle fed him and everything. He's like a child to me!!ANY & ALL ADVICE will help!
