She's teething. It's normal with all puppies. Their teeth are like baracuda, right.

Here's what you can try:

- make chicken broth
- let sit to chill
- pour into your ice cube tray
-after it freezes up, give one chicken broth ice cube to her

What for? Well, it actually does help her from biting you and chewing on any furniture, shoes or whatever she gets her teeth on. Also, it helps alleviates any soreness she has with her gums.

Another is:

-old but clean cloth
-wet it, squeeze excess water off
-tie in a knot
-put in freezer
- then give it to her, she can chew on this too...
- does same effect as the chicken broth ice cubes

*I wouldn't suggest you giving her any raw hide bones or pig's ears. Those aren't healthy for dogs. And if ingested, it might cause some internal problems.

By the way, her teething won't last long. If you think it hurts, think how she must be going through.

Good luck & have fun with your puppy as puppy stage doesn't last very long. And take pictures too:)

If she bites, smack her gently on the nose and say in a serious tone (and louder, but not too loud), "no bite!" (the fewest syllables you can use, the better). Try to keep a dog treat in your pocket, and if she licks your hand or just sniffs it instead, say "good girl!" in a "happy" tone, and give her a treat. Use the pop on the nose and the "no bite!" method every time she bites; only use the treat method on occassion, or otherwise she'll start licking your hand or even sniffing it all the time, expecting a treat! When you're rewarding her for her good behavior, ALWAYS add praise and attention, like petting her or giving her a belly rub if she likes those. Even after you quit using the treat, when she has stopped the biting, give her extra attention with the petting and/or belly rubs for good behavior.

Say "OUCH" really loud when she puts teeth on you. She needs to know it hurts. Stop playing and turn your back on her. Don't play any hand games with a puppy, this only encourages biting. Have lots of safe chew toys to offer her instead. Check out http://www.siriuspup.com/ for great puppy training info.

Honey, when you find out, let me know! I have a 4 month old Boston terrier that bites everyone and everything. I think she's half goat the way she chews. I busted her eating the carpet the other day, and when I fussed at her, she bit me. Good luck with that one.

she's teething, get her ome good rubber chew toys, like the brand name "kong" toys, and be patient with her- direct her attention to the toys, or to a stuffy, or socks tied up in a knot when she is chewing.
if she is actually biting you during play, close her snout GENTLY and tell her a stern "no" each time she does it- over and over, repeatition of the same command is the key. and don't forget to praise her when you notice she is chewing on the right thing, or not biting during play. please just be patient. good luck.

if they start chewing there is special spray you can buy that is non toxic, but has a terrible taste, spray it on the spots they chew on and they will get the taste and not chew the area anymore, it will work on you too, but i would reccomend washing your hands thoroughly afterwards
