I know how hard it is to say no to those cute pleading eyes, but your pup will be much healthier if you can. If you must give in, save just a little bite when you are eating one. That way he or she will still get a little treat, but won't overdo it. This should apply to any people food, as it's really not good for your pet. Keep a supply of pet treats on hand and reward with those instead. But make sure they stay as treats...if you give them to your dog too often they won't be as special anymore!
Even if you have developed the habit already, it is possible to change it without upsetting your dog too much. I know because I had to do the same thing. There was a small period of adjustment where I had to reassure her that she wasn't bad (just by giving her some love and attention instead), but then she was fine. My dog is now much leaner and healthier...and not upset in the least that I say no. Oh, she still sits and watches hopefully while I'm eating, but when I'm finished she just walks away or comes over to get pet. No sulking or anything.
If you really want to make your dog happy, try going for a walk instead. It will be good for both of you! :o)

Traditionally, the best diet for a canine is 1/3 meat, 1/3 fat and 1/3 grain. But an occasional sweet treat isn't going to kill them. Just remember to give them a rawhide chew toy afterwards (it's a dog's toothbrush).

Yes, but recommend not to ever feed them chocolate as this will throw your dog into acute system failure, specially the nervous system, this is due to a chemical content in chocolate that affects them. The good s news is that you would have to feed them large quantities.
Also, avoid giving your dog sweets, since that makes them more prone to drink anti-freeze.

Well, really they shouldn't ever have chocolate! It's poison for them. Cakes and other goodies only once in a while. The worst thing you can do for your dog is make him/her fat. Keep your pet healthy and you will have your friend around for many years!

Unless they've been specially made for dogs, I wouldn't recommend it, especially chocolate. Chocolate contains theobromine that can be potentially lethal to dogs. In my experience, if you give a dog people food, he won't want to eat his own, so it's really not a good idea.

Only if you want it to be overweight with bad breath. Chocolate is actually quite dangerous to feed to dogs, reacts badly with their system. Stick to what nature intended, for treats give tiny pieces of cooked chicken, devon or dried liver treats from vet or pet shop, they love them.

Sweets are not good for your dog and can promote tooth decay, and diabetes.
Also, never feed CHOCOLATE to dogs, it's toxic and their bodies can not process it properly!
There are PLENTY of PET TREATS available! If you can take time to buy YOURSELF a treat, why not take a little time to buy SPECIAL TREATS for the pet you love?

People do...but they shouldn't.
Use dried meat, and doggy treats instead of sweets for your pet.
Its all training...
Many people think just a good pat and a cuddle work even better than food...

most things...yes. I think some things are considered as bad for animals, such as chocolate.
However, I don't recommend doing this, as it is not healthy for your dog, just like it isn't too healthy for you.
I always fed my dog my veggies and noodles and such...more main course meals. They don't need dessert!
