try putting him in a crate instead of letting him just roam around the utility room. make sure there is plenty of room for him to move around in. put his bed in it, but NO water...you don't want him peeing in there. he will be okay till morning.
dogs like crates, they are like a den, and he will feel save and cozy in it.
he will not understand at first and may even be upset, but eventually he will get used to it.
you can drape a towel over the crate so it feels a bit more den like.

here are some sites with examples of crates. you can put his FAVORITE treat in the crate, or toy....it keeps him busy and quiet and calms him down, he will eventually learn to love bed time.

First of all I would make sure that he has some type of soft light in there and is not in total darkness. A childrens night light will be just fine. Second a radio or television to keep him company. You dont have to turn it up very loud at all as dogs have excellent hearing. Third I would put an old shirt that you have worn recently in there with him. Place it in or on his bed. Your scent will give him a sense of security. Last but not least I would suggest having him pad trained so that you do not have to lock him up at night. They make sprays that will discourage him from urinating around your house. Also ones that will encourage him to do his "thing" in the proper place. You can find these at any petstore for a couple of bucks each.

Your dog is probably scared and distressed by being separated from you.

Could you get him used to a crate? You have to do it gently - try feeding him and giving him treats in there (with the door open) until he feels safe in the crate. You could place the crate near your bed so that he can smell and sense you near. Then as he gets more used to it start moving the crate away from your bed a little every night.

You could also leave a recently worn item of your clothing in his bed along with a (well wrapped) hot water bottle/pets heat pad and some cuddly toys to keep him company and make him feel more secure. Also I agree with the idea of leaving a nightlight on or even a radio at a low volume (so it doesn't wake everyone else up) which will make him feel less lonely.

put the dog in a kennel at night and put a blanket over it and tell him it is time for bed. Get him fixed. that might help. Tell him "No!" every time he barks. I have a silky (Yorkie cousin) and those dogs seem to have little man syndrome. my dogs bark if there is any noise that is odd. Alot. So if there is something on in the house like the dishwasher, try and run it before he goes to bed, just while you are training him to be quiet. Last thing, try and go to a pet store and ask about any dog trainers that you could take a class with him.

if your yorkie is anything like mine, he's very attached to you. he just can't get close enough to you. being seperated from you at night time is really hard for him...

i have heard yorkies don't need a lot of excercise, but i find mine is just the opposite. if i don't walk him or tire him out every day, he won't sleep through the night. if you can, make sure he got plenty of excercise.

maybe you could look up some tips on potty training and fix that problem, then maybe he won't have to stay in the utility closet all night.

Wow, that's tough. You would think after 3 months he would settle down. Maybe you could try getting a crate and keeping near your bed at night he could just be lonely. Also maybe he is not getting enough exercise in the daytime hours?¿? Try getting him more activity before bedtime. Also try to keep him on a schedule for meals, exercise, and bedtime. I hope something works out for you.

It's obvious he misses you at night. Try and put an article of your's in his bed. Something with your scent on it. This may help to combat his loneliness during the night.

Does it sleep during the day, since it has been up all night? I had this problem with a kitten. Sleep all day, meow all night. I kept it up all day once, and it started sleeping at night. Hope this helps!
