Just sit down look at the dog and imagine what the dog reminds you of and that will be the dogs name.... As long as the dog as loving I don't think the dog really care what its name is.

My big dogs I named after Greek mythology and gods. I have 2 Akitas named Titan and Ares (The god of war). Then I have a black Pomeranian who I named Butch Cassidy because he was such a brat when he was younger and always broke the rules. Then there is my Shih Tzu who I named Toady because he came to me after months on the street and looked like a toad at that time. What did you name yours? Good question!!

I wouldn't name my dog one of those foo fooey names like 'Fluffy' or 'Tiny'. I'd name them something normal like 'Ally' or 'Molly'. To me dogs are the same as human beings. We're all animals, we're just a much higher spiece and can talk. The reason why I say this is because we all have brains, hearts and we think. Just because your dog sits there with a stupid look sometimes, doesn't mean he's dense.

What you name your dog really doesn't mater as much as trying to help your dog recognize his name from the thousands of other words he is going to hear you say. A dogs name should be two syllables to make it easiest for him to recognize it. Too short a name, such as Bob (1 syllable), sounds too much to your dog as other short words. On the other hand, overly long names tend to confuse your dog as well as the other people he is going to interact with.

When we got our dog, he was already named (registed name is Bad Moon Rising) the breeder called him Riser but he didn't answer to it. We went through about 50 named until we got to the one that he responded too (or he just got tired of us calling him different names) His name is Piccaso

My dog was unfortunately already named...he's a red weiner dog and his name is Archie...if I ever got another weiner dog, his name would be Jughead, of course...I have also had dogs named Zeus, Hera, Sequel, and Lemuel...oh, and one named Autis Curtum because my name is Autumn and my bf's name was Curtis...that's just pathetic, I know...

My dog is Brandi however it is up to the personality of the dog. I named my kitten by his most frequent action, Archy.
