There is one sure fire way to tell if a dog is purebred Chow,,,,That is ..a Chow dog always has a black or dark blue tongue, in all the years of hybrids and trying to perfect the breed, they have never been able to breed the black tongue out of the dog.

Short of a DNA test, you have no way of knowing. Even if you have the puppies DNA, unless you have the DNA from the suspected father, there is no way to match it. If you cannot do this, you cannot sell them or say they are purebreds. I got my Pom for a lot less that way because the breeder couldn't guarantee he was a full on Pom. As it turned out, he was but you will have to wait until they are older. Good luck!!

Go to the vet, or have the vet come to you. There are distinctive things that tell you what beed a dog is, I'm sure if you ask a vet or pet store person (at a store that sells dogs) they'd be able to tell you.

There is no way to tell for sure without doing an expensive genetic test. I'm not even sure if they are able to recognize breeds of dogs by testing their blood yet. I know they can do it in cattle. Otherwise there is no way to know for sure.
