I use Frontline on my cocker spaniel and he still scratches at himself. He doesn't have fleas. I've checked him all over and can't figure it out. Any help?

I have a dog and three cats. I'm a good pet owner. My animals are all up-to-date on their vaccines, they are exercised, fed nutritious food and happy. I live in a 2-bedroom condo. I want to get another dog, but I think it would be too many pets. I would save one from the pound. What do you think? Too much for one person to handle?

Should I register dogs as mix breed or will they find out?

the previous answers were only partially correct. there are very few "unowned dogs" in the US. the dog you find probaly is being missed by its family. It should go to your local shelter to be found by its owners. If you fear for the dog's safety there, tell them you'll adopt it if the owner's don't claim it.

but idk what type it is. a lot of people have been saying there's only short hair and long hair.. but i've heard others say there's teacup, miniature, regular so idk what she is. i know the male and female she was breed from were small and no taller than a foot to the top of the ears. but i have an 11 year old chi who is almost a foot to her withers and if she lays down she's two feet from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail. she's a purebreed chi. the newest baby will be 3 months on the 21st and isn't even 6 inches to her withers and foot from her nose to the base of her tail. the owner said she won't get much bigger though. what kind is she??

Earlier today I left for a few hours and noticed she was packing for a trip, or was moving somewhere. I came back a little later and was picking up all of my stuff to leave again for a job interview.. Some guy outside he found the dog and thought it was someones.

The woman upstairs didn't answer her door and the note I left her is still in the same position.

I put the dog in my bathroom and he crapped everywhere.. but I let him outside and he pee'd and poop'd w/out a leash and didn't run off. He has a very playful personality but he is a pit bull (which can snap at any second). I fed him about 4-5 cups of dry food and he seems so happy and excited now.

I put him in the hallway of my apartments. What should I do? I can't keep him in my apt w/my 2 very small dogs and a cat.

My Jack Russel Sparky only listens to me when i have a treat or he knows he has done something wrong. He jumps up on the couches(hes not allowed on the furniture) and barks at dogs and men(only men) if they pass.
And he wont let me cut his nail's, he bites and growls at me,its hard to get him groomed because he wont let a guy groomer groom him, we have to request a girl or he will be aggresive towards the groomer.

My dog drinks out of our pool all the time, and I was wondering if there would be any bad effects of that. I don't want opinions. I just want any information you can give me. Thanks!

She'll only eat human food--sometimes!!! She'd rather eat snails outside its so gross...but even when we do give her food it lays in her bowl for days and days and now im even starting to see her ribs popping out. It doesn't look that bad but still, I can tell she is happy and is always hyper and playful but when it comes to eating....she doesnt!

As an animal lover I feel I am able and confident enough to start making a job (at least part time) out of it after I finish University. I have already done some work at the RSPCA (England) but want to take it further. Is anyone aware of any kind of Consultancy jobs or any jobs linked with SPCA/RSPCA or any other rescue centers. Any advice or info would be appreciated. How do you get your foot in the door to this career?

i've had my puppy for 8 months, she's a little over 9 months old and i want to begin leaving her alone in the house. i have left her at my partners house before, but he has two older dogs to 'keep her in check'. she's behaved really quite well, there have been the odd chewed items but nothing too serious. where do i start, and where's the best place to keep her? bearing in mind i live in the uk, and she stays indoors.

Ok, so my wife and I got Sam when he was 6 months old, he was a rescue and we are his 3rd family. He has torn up our carpet ($1,350) shreded the paint on the door ($30) and God only knows how many pairs of my wifes shoes (priceless, lol). He has broken 2, all metal kennels thaty Petsmart promised me he couldnt break out of. And now he just tore up a pair of shoes my wife recieved as a wedding present. She is done, we both love Sam, and I dont want to "pawn" him off on another family to deal with it. Also I dont want to do that to Sam, I mean 3 familys in 6 months, NO WONDER he has seperation anxiety. HELP my wife now hates our dog, I love the guy. We now have a kennel he will stay in, AND were moving into a house with a fenced yard. What do I do? My wife says if it happens again, she will loose it. Any body else deal with a SEVERE seperaion anxiaty. Sam is a black lab / chow 60lbs. but only the wifes stuff gets torn up, or our apt....

The biggest reason is I own a American staffordshire terrier, pit bull. But they are not the only breeds being banned boxers, bull terriers, all mastiffs, chows, dobermans, great danes, rotts, sanit bernard, akita, all husky. If you give up freedom for safety you will get or desever ether. Pit bull owners are not the only pet owners losing thier loved dogs, open your eyes big brother is trying to control our lifes.
