My Jack Russel Sparky only listens to me when i have a treat or he knows he has done something wrong. He jumps up on the couches(hes not allowed on the furniture) and barks at dogs and men(only men) if they pass.
And he wont let me cut his nail's, he bites and growls at me,its hard to get him groomed because he wont let a guy groomer groom him, we have to request a girl or he will be aggresive towards the groomer.

Sounds like both you and Sparky could benefit from a good obedience class! If you learn how to handle him using some obedience basics, he will be alot easier to deal with and you may also be able to end some of his nasty habits.

By taking a class with him and working on training exercises you also change your relationship with him and help him to understand that YOU are in charge, not him.

It won't be easy, and a change won't occur overnight, (old habits are hard to break...picture a person trying to quit smoking) but if you are consistent, listen to your trainer, and don't let him get away with pushing you around, you should be able to fix quite a few of those problems.

Sounds like a typical Jack. They are tiny pushy assertive little dogs.
People think they are cute and they get away with murder because they are cute.
It is not to cute when you live with the aftermath.
TRAINING and NOW. Get started now.
The more time you spend training the easier it will be to do things like trim nails and groom. I am supried that a groomer would take crap off a Jack.

My Jack Russell has bitten me numerous times. She prefers my mother and sees me as a potiental problem. I can't groom her. Sometimes she won't even let me pet her. She bosses my other dogs around, including a 125 pound wolfhound. When people meet her they think she's adorable. She is a total ham. I have never had such a bull headed manipulative dog in all my life. But I like her, after all, she's cute.

Unfortunately, your dog doesn't respect you. I would get him to a trainer and do a one on one training session. It has worked wonders for a lot of our clients having issues with their dogs. It's a lot more fun to have a dog when they respect you and know what their rules and boundries are.
