Your dog is probably hurt, or might have arthritis. The best thing to do is to think about that dog, he can't take care of himself. He depends on you to do it, so you need to take him to the vet. Explain the money problem and I'm sure they will work something out. They are there to help out animals/

Start saving your money and take him to the vet. It could be a lot of things - arthritis, ligament tear, etc. Or maybe he just strained a muscle. You can give a dog aspirin (not ibuprofen) for pain. How much depends on the weight of your dog. Your dog really should see a vet. Maybe you should borrow money from someone if you can't afford it right now.

ok. would you rather get ticketed for animal cruelty?
If your animal is in pain and you're using the excuse that it costs money to see a vet, you could wind up in court, or maybe in jail.
if that dog were your child would you have the same reaction?
stop whining and take the dog to the vet. if you had taken fido to the vet when you first noticed the pain, it would be a whole lot cheaper than what you'll have to deal with now...!

TAKE HIM TO THE VET!!!!!!! An office visit usually runs from $25 and $40 (depending on where you live). Your dog needs medical attention. Do you love your dog?

Your dog is already nine years old and is obviously considered in the aged category. What he is suffering from is most probably arthritis. To relieve him from his pain, rub medicated or rheumatism oil on his leg, and massage lightly. My dog suffered the same problem and it worked on her. The next day, she stopped limping.
