My new puppy gets extremly excited when he plays. He has started biting (well nipping hard). When we try to redirect him (hand over muzzle "no -bite") he gets more aggressive. He is also chewing clothes and attacking feet (which is normal). My concern is that the biting seems to be more agressive then just playfulness. Sometimes he runs and bites and aggressively tries to get at people on the couch. He doesn't like to get petted for very long either before he starts to nip. (we try to stroke him to calm him down).
My dog is kept in a crate (large wirecrate) which he tolerates well. he also has a travel crate that he hates. When he starts to bite we usually say "no" and then put him immediately in a time -out. Last night he nipped so hard that it left a mark on my arm. I immediately put him in the travel crate in another room.
Is he too young for a brief period with a muzzle? I don't want to be mean but i don't want to raise an aggressive dog either.... HELP

Okay, so my sister really wants a dog, and that dog is a Husky. Now, Huskies were made to be in the cold, but we live in South Georgis where it is warm all year round. Except winter, but the most cold we get in winter is 34 degrees F. It doesn't snow, only frosts a little but. Will the Husky be okay with this?

Something NEEDS to be done everywhere to protect our innocent animals from abuse & neglect from horrible people who shouldn't even HAVE animals, AND prosecute those deadbeats to the max for violations AND prevent those criminals from getting more animals in the future. Not nearly enough is being done ANYWHERE. Animal abuse is rampant. How about writing up a petition to get your city/county division together to investigate & prosecute animal abuse and getting your friends & co-workers to sign it and mailing it to your local crongressman? Enough voices will be heard.

My husband adopted a doberman mix from the humane society at about 3 months old, for our daughters. She is a sweet loving girl. She loves my daughters (3y & 4y). However she is about 9 months now and has grown considerably. She has knocked my daughter down several times and has nipped her on the back of the leg while playing. My husband has told me to find her a new home for he fears she my harm the girls worse. I am not sure how to do that. I dont want to find her a new home for the girls and I have become attached to her. Any ideas on what would be the best way to find her a loving home, I really dont have the heart to take her to the humane society. I have been keeping her seperated from the girls, and supervise them while together. However, my husband is getting impatient and if I dont find a home soon he will take her to the society.

Is it too late to take him to obedience school..I have had this guy for over 6 months, and love him to death, but...he doesn't always listen, and he is naughty (ie gets in the garbage, opens the fridge and eats food out of it occasionally). Obviously I have tried disciplining him in differents ways....Nothing works...I don't want to give him up, but I need to fix this......What do I do??????

no, they definately not full sisters. One is seven months and the other is 6 months.
The lighter one is Puka, and the darker one is Kaiona.

We think Puka is shepard corgi mix, but we have no idea what Kaiona is.

We just got a new dog yesterday. We adpoted her from a shelter where she came in as a stray. She is a miniature dachshund, she weighs 7.5 lbs and she is 13 years old. She is very hyper for her age, she waddles like a penguin, has bad breath & is the cutest thing ever. They called her Gretchen at the shelter, she doesn't respond to that name, and we are not sure that we like it that much. We have 3 names that we really like-- Charlie, Daisy, & Midge. We also have two other dogs named Lexis & Cheyenne. Please tell me which of the three names you like (if any), or we are open for other suggestions too!!!!
