Dogs - June 2006

It started about a week ago, this huge, silver and grey wolf kept following me around my front yard and everytime I go outside. It acts like a complete, harmless puppy around me, but a normal, agressive wolf around everyone else! Does it want to be my friend? My protector? And above all, why did it choose me?

my puppy, maverick, has uncropped ears, i like both styles but i was personally unwilling to have it done to my own puppy, plus my wife thinks they're cuter uncropped

My dog has this fascination for dragging his bed from the laundry into the tv room and playing with it as if it's a toy (of which he has a whole selection of toys at his disposal anyway).

I don't understand it. I know he likes his bed, and he likes it being in the laundry. Is it just an attention seeking strategy? He gets a whole lot of attention from us, but I guess it will never be as much as he wants. Or could it be something else?

I was just given a 10 week old puppy,Im a new parent so i dont know much about puppies. I took her in the vet for her shots and a cupple of weeks later i found out that she had fleas. She's a long Hair bread, and her hair is falling dramatically. I took her the vet, and they gave her Advantage (flea control Medication) Since we keep her in a cage while we are work, she gets really dirty, and so i just wanted to know how long after applying the medication can, i shower her? and what can i do so her hair wont fall off anymore. It really seams to me, like that medicine is not really doing nothing for the fleas. she keeps scratching and bitting on her self. Im afraind she might go bold. I could already see some bold spots. Please Help....!

She is an older house dog. I buy her dog food for adult dogs and I thought it was a good qaulity what should I be doing differently and is it a good idea to just switch foods or should it be something introduced slowly.

My dog stinks. I shower her with a special shampoo that smells like mint that was recommended at the pet store and nothing. I have tried 3 different shampoos and she just stinks either way. I mean I will shower her one day and she will be fine but the next day she is back to stink mode. Can anyone help me with some tips on how to keep her from stinking so much. Oh by the way I have used like 3 different in between bath sprays and nothing its like she is meant to stink. Please HELP!

I will spend 10 to 15 min. brushing her and she will still leave a bunch of hair on my hands and clothing a few min. later. Could I be giving her a vit. or something so she doesn't shed so badly.

when walking my Pitbull I worry about the following.
1. other irresponsible owners dogs running up and attacking me or my dog and my dog getting the blame because of the type of dog he is.
2. some stupid idiot seeing my dog and wanting to steal him for something bad.he is a good dog and wouldn't know what to do if he was put in a fighting ring.
Just wanting to know what other people , Pitbull lovers think about this as well.

I have an 11-month old German shepherd-bloodhound mix female puppy, and recently she's started to just stare at me and whine incessantly. For hours. Like she wants something, although she's been outside, been played with, ate, drank, gotten rawhide, etc. etc. I don't know what she wants! If she's not whining, she's just standing in front of me staring at me, and when I go to pet her, she backs up...it's really annoying! My other dog has never done anything like this, so I'm a little confused...any help?

Okay heres the deal...my aunt was walking her 2 nicest dogs they never bit ever!!!!!!!!!!!! So, anyways she walked out of ehr drivway and a pitbull attacked her dog(my best friend) and were goin to court bc it attacked a dog before and its tail had to be cut off and so the pitbull made my dog have tubes run through her and she has stitches and scars and eternal bleeding and were going to court. i wrote a really sad stuff bout it so should i read it to the court? i wanna kno bc these 2 dogs do agility go to the hospital to visit people old people their lol and help them get out of chairs and the dog was ripping my best friend apart:(:(:( please should i read the diary to the court how i felt when this happened or should i ! help me YES or NO

My baby girl, Jackie, who would have been one next month simply vanished one week ago. I have had my little angel since she was born and it hurts me deeply to think what could have happened to her. She may have wandered into the front yard when I wasn't looking. Her friendliness an charming personlaity may have lured a stranger to her and her willingness to be held and played with might have caused her to be abducted.

My baby girl had tags with contact info and I have not heard anything. I past out flyers all over the neighborhood and even created a huge billboard-type sign with her picture that says "Have you seen me?". And nothing. The shelters have been part of my weekly trip home from work. And nothing.

I keep thinking she will return or someone will call, but the reality is that I may never see my precious Jackie again. God I miss her. :(

Do you think I should get a new canine friend to feel my void. Nothing can ever replace her though.
