Try getting some Purina EN or HillsID, if he can keep it down it should help, if it continues, take it into your vet and they will most likely prescribe your dog with fagyl, either in liquid or pill from, which should def. help with your dogs vomiting problems, if the vomiting persists, or you start to notice a discharge from the nose, take it in immediately because it could be distemper, i cant stress enough how important it is to catch it early, but thats worse case scenario, most likely the fagyl will fix it up and its relatively inexpensive, its about 21 dollars at my clinic for a weeks worth of pills twice a day. Good luck and i hope that helps

Yes, indeed fast him for at least 18 hours. He will be very hungry, so then slowly feed him several small meals a day before going back to the normal feeding.
I boil white rice with a bullion cube in the water (gives it flavor) and also boil lean ground beef. It's bland, so it's easy on the intestines. Be sure to offer lots of clean, fresh water so the dog doesn't dehydrate.
If the vomiting lasts for more than 24 hours then you need to see a vet to make sure it's nothing serious.

Most everyone is correct. Do feed him right away. wait atleast and hour or so. Boil rice and chicken breast, dont give too much at once, make sure its not hot, room temp warm is good. Do this for a few day. If he throws up again, get him to a vet. I am asuming this is not a puppy and not normal for your dog. I have two dogs one 8 yrs and one 5yrs, been thru it with both.

DON'T FEED HIM ANYTHING!!! You should withhold all food for 24 hours so his system can settle down. Also withhold water for the next couple of hours. Then offer some ice cubes in a bowl. After 24 hours, if he has not thrown up again or developed diarrhea, you can offer boiled rice mixed with one of the following proteins boiled cubed boneless skinless chicken breast / boiled lean hamburger meat / cottage cheese. Basically a bland diet for a couple of days, then slowly reintroduce his regular food, phasing out the bland diet.
Good luck. If he is still really sick after 24 hours or gets worse in the next 4-8 hours, I would take him to a vet.

If your dog threw up just once then you can give him plain rice and ground beef. If your dog threw up more than once take his food away for 24 hours so his stomach can settle but give him plenty of fresh water. If your dog continues to throw up you can give him Pepto-Bismol to settle his stomach. 0.5 - 1 ml per lb, or 1/2 - 1 tsp per 5lb, to a maximum of 30ml or 2 tbsp up to 3 times per day. If your dog is continually throwing up you need to take your dog to the vet.

If your dog has an upset stomach you can give him a mixture of rice, and cottage cheese. I think it is a cup of each a couple times a day. You can also give your dog a tablespoon of Pepto Bismol. That is what I had to do with my dog for three days, cause she kept throwing up, and when I took her to the Vet those are the instructions he gave me.

It depends mainly on why he threw up. Is it a long haired dog? Are you treating him for hair balls?
Is he a rock eater? If so, it's time for a trip to the vet.
Bad food? Try new food (Dog food ONLY, human food is BAD for pets)

The rice answer is really more for diarrhea, but if you take pup out and let her/him eat some grass, that will do it! Dogs know these things instinctively. Make sure his./her water intake is good tonight - you don't want any dehydration setting in!

Nothing! Do not feed them for at least 12 hours to make sure whatever irritated the system is out.

jessica answered this already. the bodies mechanism for expelling something not good is to throw it up. let your dog be hungry for about twelve hours, and then try food again.
addition: Mama Jugalette got some good ideas also.
