Unfortunately Autumn dogs CAN get hemorrhoids, just like people can. It is caused by over straining to have a bowel movement. The blood supply is incredible around the rectum. Excessive straining can cause a bubble like fisher that will come out of the rectum. However his Annals can also be impacted. The most likely culprit is his diet. He needs more moisture in his diet to soften his stool. Ask your vet to recommend a moist food. You may also add just a touch of oil or bacon grease to his hard food. Not a lot. You don't want to go from one end of the spectrum to the other. If your not the squeamish type you can safely apply a small amount of preparation h if he seems to be in pain. Also remember water, water, water. If you feel he is not drinking enough there could be a more serious problem. Good luck.

how do you know? Was this diagnosed by a vet?? Did you take the vets recommendation? I would imagine that the only treatment if surgical removal of them.

Dogs don't get hemorrhoids. Your dog's anal glands are probably abscessed. It needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible.

Be careful if it's abscessed. My dog got that on her leg because something bit her or something went in her leg and needed surgery.

I believe your dog is having trouble with anal glands. Take your pet to his or her vet and have them checked out . They can be expressed, and have the Dr. or one of his techs show you how to do it yourself. baron
