Sounds like you're a responsible owner and you have a great dog (like most pitbulls are!) Try not to walk your dog in areas where dogs are known to run loose. If your dog is on a leash and another loose dog attacks yours, it should be considered self defense if your dog bites him. Never leave your dog outside unsupervised and don't put any signs in the window or pictures of pitbulls where people walking past can see them. Good luck!

I've met a lot of very sweet pits, actually all the pits I've met were sweet. Other dogs running up, if your dog is leashed, he'll get no blame. I'm not sure the best way for you to protect your pup--maybe carry a super-soaker water gun? But if you are walking your dog on a leash, none of this should be an issue.
As far as your dog getting stolen, if he is inside, that shouldn't be an issue. I have a doberman (another very sweet dog, although with uncropped ears and tail you'd have trouble telling the breed), and she stays inside no prob even when I work a 12 hr. shift.

You shouldn't be so paranoid. It's just walking your dog. You can't really prevent something like that happening to your dog. Most people don't want to challenge a pitbull unless if he's drunk or something.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but pit bulls are not pets. They have been bred to be fighting animals.
As nice as some of them can be, ( and they may very well be ) they can never be trusted with small children. They do not react the same way as other domesticated dogs.
Therefore, I have no sympathy for your concerns. Your dog is a liability to yourself and others around you.

Most people are smart enough to know that any dog is only as mean as their owner. As far as getting blamed for something that your dog did not do, well you would be able to prove that when the authorities see that your killer canine is just a lamb chop!!!!

I have a lot of sympathy on you. Try not walking him, maybe it will help. Try not thinking about it.
