i have 7 great danes right now. i have had 22 in the past. ( counting puppies) never a one mean what so ever. its just not in them. HOWEVER b/c of their size they are powerful enough to do damage if raised to be mean. you can MAKE any dog mean by rough and extreme handling. but raised with love and tenderness ( as they should be ) they are softer than any other breed. hence the nick name (GENTLE GIANTS)

If you consider size a factor in aggressiveness why sure! But, Great Danes are really the gentle giants of dog breeds, When young they can seem more aggressive although that is just puppy play and they don't know that their size is a problem. Indoor pets. the Great Danes need room and owners must be aware of the dog's needs to move about and place trinkets &such out of harms way.

I would not think that Great Danes where aggressive dogs, but my aunt had a Great Dane/Irish Wolfhound mix. Now I would think as both of those breeds as laid back, but one day out of the blue her dog attacked her Boston Terrier, and once she got her Terrier away from him he came after her. Now after this happened she found out that the father of these puppies had to be put down because he was very aggressive, and he was the Great Dane. So I believe that any breed of dog can have a bad seed here and there.

No, they are not aggressive, but keep in mind, breeding can be a root for aggression. Find a good breeder and start training right away! Danes are sweet, loyal, lovable dogs!

No Great Dane will not be aggressive unless trained to be one. There nicknames are usually the Friendly Giants. They are very loyal, playful, powerful and loving.

Absolutely not, i have only seen one great dane come in that was aggressive, and that was because the owner took out all his problems on the dog and was a complete asshole, poor dog, anyways id def. recommend one they are great dogs and almost every single one that comes into the clinic is perfectly fine and friendly, even when were poking and prodding at them lol, hope that helps

No, they are usually quite the opposite, big, stupid and soft but they do have a long list of potential medical problems that the breed is more prone to, so make sure you have enough money because they will not only eat you out of house and home but the vet bills may be very large as well.
PS looks like good visibility on that dive.

my mom's great Dane, who's name is shrimp, is the most loving "dog" that is out there. they are very loving and more mild mannered breed that is out there. the only problem with that breed is they don't live very long, he is almost 9 years old, which is pretty old.they are great around other animals, and kids;most are afraid of their own shadow.

all dogs have the ability to be aggresive.. but it tends to be within more of the small ones.. that are annoying as hell.. but not capable of inflicting harm.. or medium sized ones that are known as being dangerous.. but it still depends upon the individual dog, and the owner/master/trainer. large dogs tend to be more calm.. because they are the dog.. and yup
