my dog will stop after i let out a quick scream because he's afraid that he hurt me. but you can use a newspaper to hit against your hand to make a loud noise that will probably scare her.

DO NOT smack your dog with newspaper or anything else. That is just stupid! They don't understand why you hit them, and it will only teach them to hate newspapers and you will find yours shredded when you want to read it the most. Find out what you are doing that makes her start biting and stop doing it. Apparently it is too much. If you are playing with her and she puts her mouth on you give a comand (don't use no, that is a word that is over used so much a dog really doesn't know what it means) pick a word that you can remember easily. The word OUT is a good word. Professionals use it and it means for the dog to cease aggression. Say the word firmly and then just ignore her for a while. Don't even look her direction, it will hurt her feelings, but If she is wanting to play and you ignore her, she will think about it. Start playing with her and the minute she puts her teeth on you, say the word firmly, but not loud and ignore her. She loves you very much and her every desire is to make you happy. Soon, she will make the connection. Then when you play with her and she doesn't put her teeth on you, praise her. If she does it again say the word and ignore her. Don't even make eye contact with her. You and every member of your family should use the word, and you must be consistant. Never let her put her teeth on you for any reason. Yelling, screaming only makes her timid and frightened and doesn't help anything. Ignoring a dog that wants your attention is the best! Good luck

Mouthing an nipping are signs of dominance, even if the dog is just playing. First you must take the steps to assert that you are the leader using the "Amichein Bonding" process. After this your dog still nips at you there are very easy ways to correct this behaviour. Read the article: How To Tell if Your Dog has a Superiority Complex and what to Do about It, at www.thepetproject.zoomshare.com. After applying those steps you will be able to correct many other bad behaviours.
Always remember you are the leader and you make the rules. If your dog will not play by your rules the game is over.

I've done three different things for this problem, and all of them worked well.

1)If you are sure she is playing, then right when she bites you, lick your lips really fast, just like dogs do when they are giving dog kisses. This is the signal that dogs give each other when they get hurt while playing and want to stop. It sounds retarded, but it really does work.

2)If you are somewhat sure that she is playing, but she doesn't know she is hurting you, put her paw in her own mouth and push her jaw up until it hurts her (not badly though. you don't have to be mean.) and that will let her know what it feels like.
This one works on about half the dogs i've tried it on.

3)If you thought she was playing, but now you think she is really trying to dominate you, bite her back. At least as hard as she bit you. Again, I know it sounds retarded, but it really does work.

I had this exact same problem with my dog. If telling her no doesn't work then try LIGHTLY smacking her nose with newspaper (never use your hand because it will make the dog see your hand as a symbol of punishment and not affection). If she stops after you smack her nose, give her a treat, that way she knows she did soemthing right. I hope this helps!

I've heard that if you "yelp" really loud like a dog would if it got bit, the smart ones get the idea and back off.

I know this sounds crazy, but bite her back.

When my dog does that, I just shove my whole hand down her throat... she won't do it again for a while.
