Honestly cant give an answer here, if the pitbull ran into yalls yard and attacked then yes, if your dogs ran into the pitbulls yard then you have no case and youll probably be countersued for court fees, its a sad story, but i see it all the time, the most youre gonna get out of it is having your vet fees paid for, im really sorry about your dog, and hopefully youll get your bills paid for. Good luck.

It would help if you provided the journal entry. Many people on here are really good writers and can help you revise your journal entry into an even more heart-breaking tale (no pun intended). Do what ever you can to make the judge sympathize with you. Ask your aunt before doing anything, though.
Like GL said, you need facts but I think adding some emotional statements would be beneficial as long as you don't over do it.
I hope your dogs recover quickly and you're able to put this mess behind you soon.

only if you can make it short and sweet. yes the judge can tell you are upset, Dont say they are my bes tfriends I do this and that and they are this and that. Say You feel like the dogs are part of your family and you spend time with them daily. and not only are you at a lose due to the injures casued but the dogs are also hospital volunteers and others have been effected by this
Courts perfer facts not emotions in my experience. a little tear is good sobbing is just a distraction

Was the pit bull loose? Were your dogs in the Pit Bulls yard? Not really enough information for the yes/no answer for a court case. Sorry to hear about your dog, that does stink, but there really isn't enough information here.

im a little confused also. but i get the main point. first off i would just like to say this is horrible. and if some one can read this with out crying they have a stone heart. i know you feel horible and i do think you should express youself to the court. but theres also a chance that the judge might think you were saying this to get her to feel sympathetic for you. my personal opinion is if the topic comes up then read it in court. even if you dont though, i would consider talking about it with a freind.
good luck.

Yes. I'm an owner of two pitbulls and i never let them outside unless i have full control over them. It is the owners responsibility. I am so sorry about your aunt's dog. I hope he have a full recovery.

yes, (the true person at fault is the owner of the pitbull because there are no bad dogs, just bad owners! Poor dog will probably get put down because it was raised wrong and there is no changing it now)

Yes, anyone who does not control their pets or children should be held responsible for what they did to anyone's family or pets. My son always says that when he dies he wants to come back as one of my golden retrievers. I told him that I do love my dogs much more than him because they always love me, they never judge me, and they will never leave me to go away to college. My 15 year old golden is looking at me right now like she knows exactly what I am telling you. People should only own pets that are loving and are not a threat to anyone.
