For the biting, you need to get the dog some bones, rawhide bones or anything to chew on. The dog is teething and wants something to chew on. As long as you have something around the house that they are allowed to chew on they wont be biting things they arent supposed to chew on.

As for the potty training, keep the dog in a crate that is just big enough for them to lay down in. You want one of the plastic enclosed crates, not the wire ones. As soon as you take the dog out of the crate take them straight outside.

Make sure you get a plastic enclosed crate, not the one that is metal wire while you are training. That way if the dog goes to the bathroom in the cage they will have to stay in there and smell their own mess, you don't want the smell to escape, dogs HATE the smell of their own mess, so they eventually learn that they have to hold it.

Potty training is a long and persistent process. You have to be tough and determined to do it. I have potty trained many dogs over my life and this is what works for me. Maybe it will help you. First off be prepare to take your puppy out a lot. Puppies bladder isn't completely developed until after they are 6 months old and sometimes a little longer. First try and take your dog out about every hour or two throughout the day. You said the puppy is 5 months old so you could probably try every two hours. Bring her to the yard and wait there to see if she does her business. If she does reward her with a pat on the head and a good command or even a treat. Try and take her to a spot you know she has already gone, because her smell will be there. When she does go in the house give her a stern command and smack her snout and and show her what she did was wrong.

Well he's or she's still a puppy & eventually they'll grow out of the bitting stage. We have a Pit & Boxer here her name's Gussie Mae & she loves to jump on me but I put my knee up to stop her from that. As for the potty training if you have your dog inside you have to train it to go outside that takes time.

If it is a male, and not neutered, getting him neutered can reduce the act of biting.
Otherwise, you can enroll the dog into training classes that cover chewing/biting, and many will also hit home with basic housetraining suggestions, as well.

"How To Be Your Dogs Best Friend" by the Monks of New Skeet. Also, use a "Halti" (PetSmart or Petco) during training. It's pet and human friendly.

For the biting, try a muzzle.

For the potty training, I would suggest crate training. Or, just show him/her the right place to pee and when he/she does, praise him/her.

Another option is to enroll him into training classes

Try to go let it go outside if she/he wants to go.
