Paris Hilton.....DUH!
Everyone want's a Tinkerbell.
When Taco bell had the Chaluppa dog, it was a craze, too.
When 101 Dalmations came out, everyone wanted one, then the shelters were FULL of them because Dalmations are so high strung & need a lot of space to run. (sad)
It's the "IN" thing, fad now. It's the "IT" dog.

It is the oldest Chihuahua color, so is more common. People think of the tan one, when you say the word, Chihuahua.
People tend to associate the breed with what they see the most of, or what they have admired, or grown up with. since tan is the basic Chi clor, it is just what most people appreciate the most.
I have bred several wonderful colors in my hound breed, but when people call, they ask if I have any of the tan, black faced ones...The oldest and most common color in our country.
It takes some doing, to convince them that the other colors are just as purebred and part of the original dog, although they weren't among the earlist imports.

I don't know! My friend has a tan Chihuahua, too! Maybe they're the most types of Chihuahuas!

if ur talking about the color its because the color is nice and clean lookin for a chihuahua.
if ur talking about the type of dog its because its just so much cuter and small. disagree on the paris hilton thing. chihuahuas r just soo cute.
