Dogs can be nice to have around but they basically hang around for the free food.

I am interested on the psychological makeup of people who seem very normal and nice, yet choose to adopt breeds known to have killer insticts when given the kind of conditions that arouse the urge to kill.

We have a cat that the dogs addore and I think that the small dog might have come in the back yard to attach my dogs. My dogs are normaly very sweet and love people they even let two people in the back yard that they did not know who pulled the dead small dog out. One of my neighbors suggested that now my dogs were visious because they had killed a dog. I'm not sure what to think or do. The space that the dog got through is very small and very convoluted, he had to work at it very hard to get in and I know that my dogs were probably barking at him at the same time while he was trying to get in our yard. My dogs play very gently with our cat and they westle with each other in the house I never would have emagined that this could have happened. My dogs are mixed breeds -Golden retreiver/Saint Bernard, Rotwiler/Collie and Lab mix. I'm confused and don't know what to do or think.

I recently moved across the world (military). my dog stayed at my paretns house. My husband and I are wanting to fly him over here to live with us now that we have a house with a big yard. How stressful will the flight over be on him? Is it worth it? Money is not a factor here at all. I want my doggie here but not at the expense of his well being. Many people have their dogs from home here so I know it CAN be done, but do you think it is mean? The flight is so long-I do not want him to be scared!

He's a nine month old mixed breed, 30lbs. He's neutered. Not very well socialized - got him when he was 3 months old. When I walk him on the streets, he sometimes barks and lunges at people - especially men. He gets very afraid of noises in the street, so I think it's fear based aggression. He's cute, and looks at people curiously, so many people want to pet him, but when they come close - he barks and growls. He's okay with other dogs. I won't get rid of him, but I wish he would be a little friendlier towards strangers.

Okay- Can a short haired dog be shaved? And will this reduce the amount of hair shed? Also, he is an inside dog so he will not get sunburnt.

He barks at almost anything and the worst part is he barks so loud that you can actually hear him bark even at about 20 meters away. It really annoys us especially when he barks in the wee hours of the morning. Im sure all our neighbors are also bothered, they just dont complain to us.

I used to have a bunny but my mom told my aunt to give it away while my family was on vacation. So after that i bought another bunny but it was VERY stubborn so i chose to give it away. Then i bought 2 birds but since we were moving my mom didn't want the birds to stink up our new house. My mom thinks only little puppies are cute but wouldn't like to have one because of there poop and smell. (i personally think they smell good) So i did a TON of research and found out ways to get rid of icky dog smell and whish puppies make the least poop a day (and thankfully it was the dog i wanted most: a pomeranian! 1-3 litters a day) so i told my mom all of this and gave her a presentation but she thinks i won't be responsible. but to be honest if she gets me the puppy i'll be more responsible than ever. but she dosen't believe me. I'm 12 years old and i'm extremely smart, i always excercise, i'm very nice and responsible. PLEASE HELP I WANT A PUPPY SOOOOOOO BAD!!!

When I let my dog sleep with me, before she settles and lays down she scratches the bed (like she is digging in the dirt) for about a minute before she lays down. Does anybody know the reason why?
