Banning anything as never work. When probation was in more people drank and 1/2 quit when it was repelled. When automatic weapons were ban every gangster and drug dealer had many. 100 of thousand smoke pot. Not only do breed bans not work they make those people who now break the law considering dogs want them more and hey they don't mind breaking the law

No. The people who train pits in fighting or to stand over their drugs are criminals. They don't mind breaking another law, in fact having these dogs banned makes those type of people just want them more. The bans are only hurting law abiding people
who are losing their loved and well trained pets. If pits were the
people killing monsters the press makes them out to be there would be hundreds of deaths a year by pits and not just three,
facts given by the CDC and ASPCA
To genie you really need to do some research

I have a dog that is 1/2 pit bull and 1/2 blueheeler and she is the sweetest dog. Her mother was a full pit bull and the sweetest dog I have ever seen. It is people that make pit bulls mean and other owners just don't know how to train them. They should watch "The Dog Whisper" on the Discovery Channel and he can show you how to deal with any type of dog. He says he trains people and rehabilitated dogs. So true.

It's Prohibition, not probation; appealed, not repelled Other than that...

I've owned Pitbulls all My life, as well as Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Chow Chows, etc....My aunt bred, raised, and trained Pitbulls for 20 years...It's not the dog that should be punished, it's the humans who own them, starve them, beat them, and fight them. Lack of socialization, not enough or improper training, and misinformation is what causes laws like BSL to be passed and put into effect.

Pitbulls were used by the early American settlers to watch over their children and property, due to their extreme hardiness and intelligence. Petey, the dog from the Lil' Rascals, was a Pitbull...even though he was registered as an American Staffordshire Terrier with the AKC.

Bans do not work. They only serve to put that which is banned into the hands of the criminals, making it more of a "coveted" item and creating a sort of underground economy.

they have bans on them in alot of places. I know in some cities in Fl, GA, I think KY and a few other states, they are banned. It's sad that they have to bad the breed when they really should be cracking down and persecuting (sp?) the owners that force them to fight.

no i don't think so.. soon they'll ban other dogs they seem vicious.. dobermans, german shepards, rotties

its the owners or past owners that make the dogs violent.. of course some dogs are more prone probably to violence just by their breeds... but its all environment i think..

its like some people are more violent because it just happens to be the way they were brought up.. or some chemcials in their brains..

grrr!

NO!!! No more than gun-control or helmet laws or all the other "Big Brother" b-s.
Breed specific legislation only serves to make stupid politicians look good to their even MORE stupid electorate.
