One is 1 1/2 & the other is almost 1. They are always playing and wrestling and tearing up the yard.

I have been looking for a Pekingese in the NY area for a couple of months now with NO luck. I guess they are not common dogs and not as plentiful as the Maltese or Yorkies. Anyhow, recently I've decided to give the Shih Tzu a shot as well. Does anyone know what some differences between the Pekingese and Shih Tzu's are? For some reason Shih Tzus are also pretty plentiful but I want to find one from a reputable breeder.

Which breed is usually smaller in size. I read that Pekes are not barkers. Is this true of the Shih Tzu as well? I had a Maltese once that wasnt too people friendly and bites on occasion, do Shih Tzus and Pekes have this problem as well? Pekes shed, but Shih Tzu's dont? is this true?

And if anyone knows where I can get a Peke or Shih Tzu in the NYC area, could you please let me know? As I do not like to buy from out of state and have my puppy "shipped".

THANKS!!!!

He doesn't destroy them, but you have to fix them and pull out some excess fibers everytime. We usually just put them up before we leave, but I still notice little scratch marks on the carpet where the rugs were!

My dog herniated 5 discs in her back a few weeks ago and the vet referred me to Healing Touch for Animals to start rehab for her. (She is also taking steroids to relieve the inflammation.) I have an appt to meet with the rehab center but I was wondering if anyone has also experienced this and knows the costs for this kind of treatment, either short-term or long-term.

My puppy is alsmost a year old. Both my b/f and I work durring the day and dont feel right leaving the dog in a crate. However, everyday we get home, our house is trashed from him chewing everything. I have bought 10 pairs of flip flops in the past month, he chewed my boxspring apart, hes chewed up my carpet, hes chewed my tile up. Spankins and yelling is just not doing it anymore. I dont want to hook him outside cause we have other dogs that come in the yard. I also have another dog thats older that stays in the house with this one..... And Yes the puppy has plenty of chew toys that he wants nothing to do with!!!! HELP

My dog (Westie) spends much of the summer months outside on his back with his belly up sun tanning. I'm worried about skin cancer but it's very hard to keep a dog from going in the sun. Have you ever or have you ever heard of putting sunscreen on your dog? Some baby sunscreens come in spray form and that seems like it would be easy to put it on him.

I am moving to a new house and it seems I have no room or idea of where to put my cats litter box. It needs to be out of the way of my dogs who love to eat what's in the litter box. Any suggestions or ideas?

There are no visible fleas on them. Before we got these puppies, we had an adult female who passed away recently (old age) anyway, she had the same thing, she was always scratching and biting at herself. Could this be something they are getting from the yard? I don't want them to be miserably itchy all the time. I am taking them to the vet soon, before anyone suggests that. I just wonder if there is some home remedy, or maybe someone has experienced a similar thing, and can tell me what they think this might be.

My three mals dogs pee on everything they see and leave a horrid pee mark around my house outside. If I hand washing out and it's hanging too low, like a tablecloth for eg, they pee on it, if I buy a new plant pot, they pee on it, if I paint the wall, they pee on it, if I put my beer down next to the pool, they pee on it.
I AM GOING MAD!!!!!
