My dog herniated 5 discs in her back a few weeks ago and the vet referred me to Healing Touch for Animals to start rehab for her. (She is also taking steroids to relieve the inflammation.) I have an appt to meet with the rehab center but I was wondering if anyone has also experienced this and knows the costs for this kind of treatment, either short-term or long-term.

It will depend on what course of therapy they are going to do for your dog. I am an animal massage therapist, and I charge $45/session for canine massage. I do work with my clients that have a long term program for injury rehabilitation to help with the cost if they can't afford it.

It varies. All dogs heal at a different rate, there could be unexpected set backs that will be more expensive. It can depend on where you live. There are many more variables that make it hard to predict. Talk to the vet and the rehab people, ask for more information. Usually I'd say call around for adverage prices, but rehab for animals is still new and rare, still worth a try though. Good Luck.
